Congrats to ATV. He is one of 11 UCLA Bruins who made the All Pac-10 Academic Teams today. Jeff Locke was named in the first team. ATV joined Damien Holmes and Logan Paulsen in the second team (only if Logan showed off his smarts consistently on the football field (j/k)).
Players earning honorable mention honors were senior Nick Ekbatani, senior Gavin Ketchum, redshirt freshman Patrick Larimore, senior Ryan Moya, junior Danny Rees, senior Trevor Theriot and sophomore Sean Westgate.
As hicaliber noted Trojies had 5 in this group with no one making either first or second team.
Congrats to all of our guys.

Congrats to them all
Division 1 football takes up an extraordinary amount of an athlete’s time so when these guys also put so much effort into their academics, it’s great to see them recognized.
Formerly ryebreadraz
I got steamrolled in the math classes when I went there
ATV’s GPA is pretty damn impressive.
And really SUC? You guys have Senora Ross and you can’t even get 1 player on the first two teams?
Yeah. 3.08 in Mathematics / Applied Science is much more impressive . . .
. . . than many of the first team All Pac 10 academics with higher GPAs in lesser majors (or undecided majors).
hey!
I’m in one of those lesser majors. Haha.
But in all seriousness, ATV’s academic accomplishments astound me. There is no way in a million years I could have a 3.0+ gpa in applied mathematics. Congrats to him and all the other intelligent Bruins that were recognized.
Applied Math is a
crazy ass major. I don’t know how ATV did it all the while being the dominant corner that he is. Definitely one of my favorite Bruins.
Difficult to figure
There has to be a mistake—no trojans on the first two teams. And with that football Einstein as their coach. The fix is in.
Congrats to all
I am sorry to say it here but even the 5 Trojans. That said, I am glad we doubled them!
Really hard to be a student AND a serious athlete in any sport. Great to see the dedication.
ATV you are the man!

Props
ATV’s accomplishments on and off the field are amazing. Looking back, it hit me that ATV is definitely one of my favorite Bruins ever to step on the gridiron, I’ll be sad to see him go. Also, how the heck did Mike Nixon from ASU get a 4.07?? Extra credit in college? (yes I read the whole pdf, I’m a loser like that).
