Collegiate Baseball Newspaper has ranked the Bruins #20 in the country in their preseason poll. Oregon St. (#10) and Arizona St. (#5) are the only Pac-10 teams ahead of UCLA, while Stanford (#26) makes it four Pac-10 teams ranked.

Take the poll with a grain of salt

Collegiate Baseball’s poll is a joke and often ridiculed. I just posted it because it was the first bigger one to be released. As for where we are ranked, it’s high IMO. Our pitching will be dominant, but our hitting is a major concern and it will be interesting to see how practice fielding translates to game fielding. Being unranked has been better for us anyways. Ranked highly and we struggle mightily, but go unranked and we thrive.
