Bill Splashme Is Sad About His Trojans: Cheatey Petey Is "Weary" & "Frustrated"
As expected hilarious piece from Bill Splashme from the Trojan Times (who just weeks ago discovered the Earth is round). After hearing the McKnight debacle he apparently checked in with his Trojan lord to do some hard hitting reporting (sorry no link for Billy):
The issue is not with the car, but the caretakers, and so on Saturday I called Pete Carroll.
"You know I'm not supposed to say anything," he said.
The sound of his voice told it all. He's weary and frustrated with this stuff, but, as I've written here, there's an easy way to fix it.
Pay more attention to it. Go overboard in monitoring it. Understand that your legacy here will be affected by it.
And don't dare use the excuse that it's 80 young men and it's Los Angeles and it's impossible to know everything. This excuse once got Bob Toledo fired from UCLA. Coaches are paid big money to know all their players, especially their best ones.
Players who, in many cases, do not care about anything but themselves and their NFL future.
Reggie Bush embarrassed the university, then ran off to collect millions
McKnight, Bush's anointed successor, has now also embarrassed the university, which means he undoubtedly will run off this summer to collect his own riches.
USC is once again left with all this smoke, and the real fear that one day soon, the smallest of flames will be discovered and the entire foundation will eventually crumble.
LOL. It's always about those poor Trojies for Billy. He is so worried about the "legacy." You can just sense pain and agony coming out of the keyboards of Petey's ultimate fanboy in LA's traditional media. Notice how he mentions it was just Bush or McKnight (left out OJ2) embarrassing his beloved "university." He doesn't bother to make the obvious connection how the problem has been systematic (at least appears to be) and how the athletic program seems to be rotten it's core.
He of course conveniently leaves out how lapdogs like him and the entire traditional media (except for select few which has no forced the LA Times to finally notice the obvious shenanigans while covering the bear) have dropped the ball on covering this "reckless" (a word that Billy used in his article today) program for most of this decade. If you are thinking this is just coming from us as Trojies' hated rivals. Think again. CloseToJumping from Barking Carnival (blog covering the Long Horns) fired off this observation from the weekend on the latest stench coming out of Petey's program:
Well, the beat goes on to this day for one of the dirtiest programs in college football. News has now broken that Joe McKnight, a player taken out of Louisiana out from underneath LSU and the rest of the entirely dirty SEC, imagine that, is driving a car that he didn’t pay for. He’s been doing it for a while.
What will happen next?
Probably nothing. USC will act surprised and make claims that they’ll investigate it internally. Just as they did in regard to Bush and OJ Mayo. USC will choose to do nothing. McKnight will probably declare for the NFL after performing well and unpunished in a bowl game, and he’ll never comment on being a cheater again.
And the rest of us? Well, we all lose. We have to continue to play by the rules and watch pieces of garbage like "nice guy" Pete Carroll and his program work their asses off with their wallets to get back where they rightfully belong – in a position to beat Stanford.
Yep, the beat will go on as the impotent NCAA will never bother to figure out what's the "real deal" over at U$C*. In the meantime, Splashme and rest of the lapdogs will play the sad violin when another scandal breaks but forget all of that as soon as they see Petey jumping around and fist pumping on the sidelines.
I can already see the ESPN broadcasters marveling at Chetey's ability to always "compete" while marveling at all the fun he is having at the Trojan sidelines. Nothing is going to change. Just a bad joke going through usual rinse, lather, repeat cycle year after year.
GO BRUINS.

He was so emotionally moved, he could only write one-sentence paragraphs
I hate it when that happens.
This guy has added a whole new dimension to the word “douchebag.”
+1
How I miss FJM and their destruction of Splashme. Their takedowns of him remains some of my all-time favorite stuff on the interwebs.
FireJoeMorgan.com
“Where Bad Sports Journalism Comes (Came) to Die.” The site went into mothballs last fall, due in part to family and professional time obligations of the writers. One of the best sites on the sports blogosphere in my opinion, as well as that of Sports Illustrated, which recently rated it the 3rd most influential sports blog to date.
Fire Joe Morgan (2005-08)
The slogan — Where Bad Sports Journalism Comes To Die — tells you everything you need to know. The brainchild of comedy writers Alan Yang and Michael Schur (alias Ken Tremendous), Fire Joe Morgan didn’t invent sports media criticism, but it mastered the format and laid the blueprint for many imitators — and prompted an outcry around the blogosphere when it closed shop on Nov. 13, 2008.
As we at BN can certainly understand, Plaschke was one of the site’s favorite targets.

I had just read the Sunday Times before I flipped over to BruinsNation.
It would be ironic if the whole trojan imperium was brought low because of McKnight was caught driving a SUV that wasn’t his by the LA Times.
Victory or until next year!
what exactly did Bob Toledo do that is equivalent to PC?
this is such BS. Toledo never used paid players, never had ecstacy dealers on his team, never had rape charges against his players, never had a senora ross, never covered up his programs problems.

Yes, if SUC isnt careful
they may wind up like that dirty program across town. Good thing we can trust MG to really look into this and gain back some institutional control, unlike UCLA was able to…
William Doolittle at your service, a.k.a. will do.
The Best Part of the $Candal . . .
and the best part of the story is that while McKnight don’t know nuthin’ about the car, U$C is now claiming that the car he don’t know nuthin about was registered by McKnight. So, it sounds like we got two sets of liars, and one of them ain’t a 20-year old (alleged) college student. If U$C is lying about the registration (as it probably is), the Athletic Department has become complicit in a very obvious and public way.
This was the big news of Plaschke’s story but, of course, it got buried. It’s all the kid’s fault for not being more upfront about driving his baby momma’s car.
Bleeding powderkeg blue and gold for 55 years. Go Bruins!
The program stinks and stinks bad
It’s unbelievable that most of the media is just ok with it all and has been ok with it all for most of this decade.
Remember when the LAT published the story about the $C football player morons who started that racist white power group? I emailed the LAT immediately after the story was published and asked why they had not published the horribly racist and offensive pictures along with the story. The writer of the story replied that they didn’t have the pictures “in time” to publish them. I told him that was BS because they were already posted on BN and the LAT could still have published them the next day.
Were they ever published? No. I guarantee you that many, many thousands of people (who regularly wear $C gear) would have been horribly offended had they seen those photos. Yet, the LAT has still never published them.
What about Bush? Jarrett? OJ2? Timmeh? McSUV and his illegal conference call? $C’s running back coach who abused dogs? It’s bad for Michael Vick to abuse animals but not $C’s current RB coach?
The beat goes on and on and on.
The LAT published a separate story on the current $Candal today (apart from Splashme’s column) and it contains useful information. Let’s just say that the guy who denies any connection to McDope makes some highly questionable and ridiculous statements denying any connection to the present $Candal. His statements don’t pass the sniff test. It’s not even close. Much as I hate the LAT, if you want to be well-informed, you should read the article.
There isn’t just smoke here, folks. There are a lot of people lying and stepping all over themselves. There’s a reason a lot of people are lying. There’s fire.

"...for most of this decade."
It’s not just this decade, Barnes. When I was in high school, a tad beyond a decade ago, a guy I worked with regaled me with stories of how his dad, part of the Trojan Bench, regularly paid off trOJies. Go ahead and Google Clarence Reece. He told all, but nobody heard it and nobody did anything about it.
Some things never change. I mean just$c* cheating and the fishwrap ignoring it.
So Bush and McKnight "run off" to collect their millions
But poor Pete Carroll, who relies on them and athletes of their caliber to disguise his coaching limitations, has to settle for a paltry $4.5 million a year and an extra locker room in Malibu without ever having to take so much as a stiff-arm.
This kind of moral idiocy by morons like Plaschke is beyond contempt.
The best way to shut splashme up
is to stop giving the LA slimes your money.
No subscriptions. No advertising. Nothing.

That's where you're wrong
He’s a cockroach… somehow he’ll find a way to show up to aggravate us all. If not in print, then on that BSPN Around the Horn show. If not on TV, then the radio, the street corner, preaching to students walking up the Walk. And all the while speaking 1-sentence paragraphs.
He's the new Bulwer-Lytton
Go to the Bulwer-Lytton contest and read some of the entries. Then tell me that Plashke couldn’t win that contest hands down with stuff that he’s already published.
This is a perfect illustration of the dumbing-down of Los Angeles. No wonder his target audience is the trOJie community. The only people who think his writing is great are those who can only think in one-sentence paragraphs.
I've stopped going to the website
I was so pissed at Splashme after he critized CRN for calling the time out in the u$c* game, I haven’t even gone to the website since then. This is huge for me, since I would go there just to see what is going on in my hometown. No more for me. I am a follwer of the Fox way now. (Yes, Fox, it does take some of us youngsters a while to see the light)
