What does "USC Marketing" Stand For?
If you're a lying sack of crap like Scott Schenter, a man who has registered a domain name like "4joemcknight.com" despite having allegedly little to do with the player, it means "United States China Marketing".
These are some incredibly poor quality lies. Are they even trying anymore?

you know...
most of the rest of the story seems at least plausible to me. but, c’mon? United States China? Seriously?
Go Bruins!
It's so comical
I mean, really?! You “help finance” (read: buy) a SUV “for the girlfriend” (read: for the guy) of one of U$C’s top football players (read: semi-pro athletes), register a domain name 4joemcknight.com (read: to use to pimp #4 when he can officially go pro), and then you try to claim that your company, called “USC Marketing” is really “United States China Marketing”?
What the f**k does United States China Marketing even mean? Are you marketing something Chinese in the United States? Are you marketing China to the U.S.? Are you selling some kind of dishware made in the U.S.?
Lawyers like to tell juries that, in criminal cases, there’s a difference between reasonable and possible. Anything is possible, but not everything is reasonable. Usually, it comes up when the defense throws out some theoretically possible explantion that, if true, absolves Mr. Criminal, of any wrongdoing. And most of the time, it doesn’t work.
Why? Because anything is possible (read: I snuck into Morgan Center every week and switched up the Bruin playbook, cauing KD to look so confused on the sideline when his offense would flop) but not everything is reasonable (read: KD was confused because he sucked as a HC).
So, look at the evidence here. Dude is buying a car for McKnight’s woman. He registers a website in McKnight’s name. He has a company called USC Marketing and he wants us to believe it doesn’t stand for the University of Second Choice?
I mean, damn, you would think with all of the shady s**t that goes down at U$C, they’d at least be good at lying about this kind of stuff by now. Morons.
He must use the same spin doctor who gave Tiger the "my wife was rescuing me from the car" story.
I think that one absurd statement tells you that this guy is up to something shady. Why do people use such stupid excuses/explanations?
LMAO
United States China? Omg this is HILARIOUS. One of those things to add to the list that will never get old. HAHA!

USC Marketimg
I heard that Garrett, Cheatey, Trutanich and Schenter had a conference call to discuss damage control. They quickly decided to come up with an explanation for USC Marketing. My friend works for AT&T and surreptitiously recorded the call. He would not let me release the actual recording, but I did transcribe it. Here it is for the first time anywhere.
Cheatey: (having participated in similar fire fighting exercises on numerous occasions made a suggestion) Hey I know. Let’s say it’s an acronym for something.
Garrett: A who’s its what?
Trutanich: Damn it, Mike. You don’t know what an acronym is? An acronym is a group of letters that each is used as the first letter of a different word. You know, like “USC” stands for University of Southern California?
Garrett: I still don’t get it.
Trutanich: Jesus, where did you go to colle . . . oh wait. Never mind Mike. Just try not to speak for the rest of the call while us grown ups try to figure out what to do.
Garrett: (sticking thumb in mouth) Okay.
Cheatey: How about Ultra Sexy Carroll?
Trutanich: That’s good, but it may lead to more questions about the live-in coed.
Schenter: I know. Unscrupulous Stab for Cash?
Trutanich: Again, guys, we are not going for accuracy. We are trying to come up with something that will allay suspicion, not increase it.
Cheatey: Untimely Statement on Corruption?
Trutanich: It’s official. You are all morons. How do you eat and walk straight, let alone coach a successful football team? Wait. I’ve got it. (directing the next question to Schenter) Have you ever been to China?
Schenter: There was one?
Trutanich: (large sigh and long pause) For God’s sake, just say it stands for United States China and claim to be working on some general marketing plan for an unnamed product or service to be sold or marketed in the United States and China. Make sure to explain it in an email because if any reporter worth his salt verbally asks you questions, you will never be able to handle it.

LOL This is hilarious
Sadly, this is more believable than the story that’s out there in media reports

No worries
I was just referring to general links to the story from above and the “letter” to LAT. I was referring to your post. I love KS’s but man this one had me truly ROFL.
ESPN
is actually buying this story. Pretty scary…..
Are you surprised?
After all, these are the morons who hired dumbf**ks like Dickie “If I Could Still Get It Up, I’d Have A Perennial Boner for Duke” Vitale, Steve “Baron Davis Is Still Waiting For A Real College Coach” Lavin, and Digger “I’m Just A Pussy Bitch” Phelps as analysts.
That tells you all you need to know.
Additional excerpts from the ESPN interview
ESPN: So you’re saying that the USC in “USCMarketing” doesn’t stand for the University of Southern California"?
Schenter: Of Course not. Furthermore, I’d like to point out that the “joemcknight” in “4joemcknight.com” actually references a marketing talent search I had planned. It was gonna be a night where we “Judged Online/Electronic Marketing Concepts.” You see, j.o.e.m.c. night.
ESPN: What about the “K”?
Schenter: We were going to give the winner a $1000 prize and a contract. So we were actually gonna give away two Ks. Of course, now I wish we had gone with the original domain name idea “4joemc2Knight.” I guess that would have cleared things up here.
ESPN: In additiona to USCMarketing and 4joemcknight, you’ve also registered the business name “NFL Bound Trojans.”
Schenter: Yes, after I discovered that former NFL running back Travis Henry had fathered 9 children by 9 different women I decided that I would take it upon myself to provide professional football players with free effective contraceptives.
ESPN: How about the fact that your email address is “”mailto:studentbodyleft@hotmail.com">studentbodyleft@hotmail.com"?
Schenter: That was in reference to a tragic event in which a local high school student was beaten and then left for dead by a group gang members.
ESPN: You have a son named Orenthal Schenter.
Schenter: I just always liked that name.
ESPN: You’re currently wearing cardinal and gold face paint that reads “fight on”
Schenter: Alright if this is just gonna turn into a some kind of witch hunt, I’m out of here.

I don't understand his comment
Schenter also said he is a University of Washington fan who has “nothing to do with agents, marketing players or representing athletes” despite his ownership of the Web domain www.4joemcknight.com, which he says has not been renewed.
“I own so many Web site domains that I only purchased ”http://www.4joemcknight.com" target="_blank">www.4joemcknight.com [didn’t renew] because I thought it was clever along with the many other ones I own/owned," Schenter wrote in the e-mails.
But a whois lookup for 4joemcknight.com reveals the following:
Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
Domain Name: 4JOEMCKNIGHT.COM
Created on: 18-Dec-09
Expires on: 18-Dec-10
Last Updated on: 18-Dec-09
Which means it was created TWO days ago, but Schenter claims he didn’t “renew” it?
interesting change on the site
when I first viewed it yesterday morning (and posted the text in another thread):
Welcome to the future website dedicated to Joe McKnight and the USC Trojans. Fight on!
Now (7:40pm PST Dec. 20):
Welcome to 4joemcknight.com. Thanks for visiting. I would like to address the serious allegations against Joe McKnight and Scott Schenter. ESPN printed Mr. Schenter’s response to the allegations on a blog earlier today:
5. As for his ownership of the Web site, www.4joemcknight.com, Schenter claims he’s squatted on a number of similar Web site names.
“I also have uscmarketing.com, uclalove.com (where’s the Kevin Love article), stanfordindians.com, 24kobe.com, airkobe.com, trumpcancer.com, shaqcancer.com, caltchbeavers.com, uscromeo.com, and for Scott Wolf, amandaflugrad.com.”
(Mr. Schenter’s comments are in quotes.)
Mr. Schenter implies that he owns 4joeknight.com. He does not in fact own 4joeknight.com. I’m not sure why Mr. Schenter suggests this, but, in my opinion, this small falsehood questions the validity of the rest of his story. Certainly he will have ample time to tell his side of the story to NCAA investigators in the near term.
Please check back for updates on this issue as the story develops.
Current text from site copied directly above; the only change is I had to drop some double-spacing to allow the entire quote to fit inside one block-quote box.
Did he buy a car for Kevin Love's girlfriend?
And does this guy really work for the tax assessor’s office? If that’s true, how did he get enough time to do all his big deal dealing in South Africa?
I don’t mind someone truying to lie his way out of something, but at least give us enough credit to try to make up half-way credible lies. This guy’s story is about as believable as Cheatie Petie’s total unawareness of everything going on at just$c*.
uclalove.com and amandaflugrad.com do not check out
The rest do.
But he just seems even sleazier, portraying himself as a cyber squatter.
Did anybody catch this?
From the FULL TEXT of his email to the LA Times, the very first paragraph (emphasis added):
I was very insulted in that you co-authored an article titled, “USC investigating tailback Joe McKnight’s use of vehicle” and “rushed” to publish it without comments from myself. My personal life was put in the open without the opportunity to comment (I had to disclose to my wife of the other cars I have purchased or helped buy for other women). I will make a few comments and will also be forwarding my comments to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, and other news organizations that I feel should hear from me so they may publish or have it for their records.
Anybody else think this is a bit interesting?

The fishwrap has gone beyond the bounds of decency and violated everyone's right of privacy.
We will all now have to tell all our wives about all the cars we’ve bought for other women. What’s next? I suppose now we’ll no longer be able to keep a couple of concubines out in the garage.
To be clear, I don't give a rat's tail about his marriage.
I honestly don’t.
I’m more curious as to how many other people — women, men, players, player’s girlfriends — he has bought cars for.
For a guy who claims in his e-mail to the Times that he’s such a UW fan, why the heck does he have so many $C-related website names???

If $UC's isn't the poster case for "Lack of Institutional Control"
I don’t know what would be. C’mon NCAA, grow a pair and put the hammer down!
The NCAA also has a "Lack of Institutional Control"
With each passing year, the scandals get stranger and start to become so numerous that it seems these types of issues just become business as usual for $c. Neither the Pac-10 nor the NCAA can be counted on to reign in these out of control ‘student atheletes’.
