"Oh, he'll play in the league," said Neuheisel, a former Baltimore Ravens assistant. "But I don't think there's any reason for him to go now, because the market for that position doesn't change. I think he can finish school, have a chance to be a two-time all-American. All that kind of stuff is a great thing. Certainly we'll understand if he determines otherwise."
Forbath said he still is considering his decision.
"I'm just looking at my options and talking to different people, just seeing what the possibilities are and whether it's the right decision now or to wait a year," he said. "Right now, I don't really know. It's a good situation to be in."

Maybe I'm not remembering
but I don;t think I have ever seen a kicker leave early. Very rare. right? STAY KAI, STAY!!!
"The entire world that bleeds blue and gold ... they have been dying for this." - Coach Rick Neuheisel
If Al Davis wants to spend another 1st round pick on a kicker...
then yes, Kai should go.
Outside of Al Davis’s insane world, very good kickers continually go in rounds 4-7, and since there are no guaranteed contracts at that point, Kai should come back. Kicking is such a complete crapshoot in the NFL, and since the chance of injury for a college kicker is relatively low, Forbath should come back to UCLA. He’ll be the pre-season all-american, he’ll likely improve even more on his skills and statistics, he’ll graduate with a great education (in case the NFL doesn’t keep him in), and he’ll go just as ‘high’ in the draft with an equal chance at making a roster.
Kai Forbath, there is no reason to go pro right now. Come back.
