I thought I’d get this new year’s "resolution" or revelation, really out there before the bowl game to avoid off topic stuff from cluttering the post section.

First of all, if you didn’t know I’m Josh (ucla13_usc9), I changed my "name"... you can understand why.

This year, I was fortunate enough to get referred to this site named Bruins Nation, where I lurked around for about a year or so, then signed up to write some post about Kevin Love... I wrote about three sentences, and I still don’t know what I was talking about. I was too scared to leave comments, even if they were just a mere "+1", so... illogically, I decided to write up a post dubbed "NCAA 10 Getting to Next Season" at that point I realized that it meant nothing... just a video game... so I scurried away for 3 months to return with another meaningless post about how dumb I was. So I scurried away for another few months...

Then something got the ball rolling. I don’t know if it was the Tennessee game or another outside force, but I started realizing what Bruins Nation was... so I started writing analysis. And it got bumped! I was beside myself, I wrote my family in Utah, NoCal, and told friends on texts, my coworkers, everyone... IT GOT BUMPED!! I couldn’t believe it! 

It was at this point that I got addicted to BN... I stayed on until midnight if I could, just refreshing my page to see if there were any comments (I didn’t know that there was an auto-comment finder)... still arrogant from my last post, I went on a journey of some massive importance... my first "break-down". I knew that I was addicted when I saw this comment too.

Soon after... I threw out a big meatball for everyone to laugh at. And four days later, I got it back. The rest was history. But if one thing stood out among all others, it was on November 25th, 2009.

I remember I was watching TV when Ryan called me panicking saying, "JJ can do it right now, let’s go" my heart was beating so fast I barely even was sane enough to click the button that said "join call". Not only did I get to speak to the person I have been told I was named after (didn’t make sense mathematically, but whatever), but one of my personal heroes and a UCLA legend... Whenever you are in doubt about being a Bruin, click on this link. It has helped me numerous times. And to think... it all started with a crude photoshop.

I know that there are quite a few critics of this site, and if you ever need proof that this place is somewhere special, just link to this post... I think it serves as an example of just how special this blog really is. We’ve laughed (Ryan will hate me for bringing that masterpiece back), we’ve cried, but we’ve had a great year none-the-less

So thanks Ryan, Nestor, Tyler (I mean bruinhoo Patroclus) and everyone who is privileged enough to run this site, you can sleep well tonight thinking that you have done well in the world; this site has helped at least one person get through the day.
