With no game on tap this week, tonight's podcast is all recap, although we will take a look at UCLA's bowl possibilities and the rest of the Pac-10. We'll recap the USC game and break down each and every part of it. What did the Bruins do well and where did they struggle? What does all of that mean for the future of the program and what is up with the recent transfers/players quitting football? All of that is on tap for tonight's podcast.

I think all of them have been really good. I think in the very first hoops podcast, you guys took a little while to get in rhythm, but you have been in sync since then. I have been enjoying them and really encourage everyone else to listen in (it will make our discussions in comment threads on other posts even better).

Washington just lost to Texas Tech in hoops
Missed two free throws in a tie game with 4 seconds left, Tech got the ball down court and hit a buzzer beater to win it.

SC off to a good start at Texas
They lead 11-9 very early on. Dwight Lewis is a good ballplayer, but they have so little around him.

Quincy Pondexter can really play
He looks a lot more comfortable and confident out there than he did in past years. If Gaddy ever finds his place and get’s going, I don’t think anyone will stop UW from scoring. I’m not sure UW can stop anyone from scoring either though.

for our game up there next year. Once of the few Pac-10 stadiums I haven’t been to and it looks like a blast.

If Oregon St. beats Oregon
There’s a chance that Oregon is still chosen for a BCS bowl, meaning the Bruins get a Pac-10 bowl bid. A longshot, but reason enough to root for OSU.

Although the additional screwing of $c (OSU win = Ducks in the Holiday Bowl) already had me leaning in that direction.
Quizz is just crazy...
Ducks had him stopped for no gain on 2nd and 25, breaks the tackle and runs for a 48 yard gain

That play there is why college should adopt the NFL PI rule
It’s ridiculous that you can just bring a guy down way down field because the penalty is a max 15 yards. If you stop a guy from catching a 40 yard pass, the penalty should be 40 yards. Adopt the NFL rule and go spot of the foul.

I heard on the Dan Patrick show that some consider Riley the best coach in football. Hmm? He does a lot for the talent he has.

Dick Vermeil was on the local radio today
and called Chetey Petey out for his classless act. He said that suc should remember when they were bad, and how they would feel if another team had thrown a bomb on them. Vermeil is a class act, and it takes a lot for him to call another coach out.

I have a couple questions for the podcast:
1) How serious is Norm Chow in leaving UCLA for San Jose St.?
2) Do you think CRN will have a field position offense for the duration of his tenure instead of an explosive offense? In other words, is he more inclined to be conservative. I’m just getting my mindset ready just in case Chow leaves the program.

weird. We got to a few different topics. One of them was a question from Champions Made Here. Chow isn’t going to SJSU. Foster says Chow told him he has no interest and two people I know said the same. He’s in Hawaii recruiting right now I believe,, hasn’t heard from SJSU and isn’t interested.

Kelly could have completely lost that team after that game and he sure as hell pulled it together. I do like the way he handled it, basically telling Blount he couldn’t play until he got his sh** together.

mentioned on the radio today, “DC & RW were underrated coming out of high school and they played hard. The result, their NBA stock rose. He said the current team consist of many guys who were highly regarded, and so far, they have underachieved.”
I wonder if the word, “entitlement” can be applied to some the basketball players on the team.

suc basketball hung around #2 Texas for two-thirds of the game, then the Longhorns pulled away.
Makes me wonder:
Maybe, the Bruins can slow the game down, throw in a zone, and Bobo has a monster game against Kansas, and UCLA pulls off the upset. I can dream, right?

Have seen him on TV. I believe he took broadcasting courses offered to NFL players. He will be a great ambassador for us once he is done with his pro career on TV (like Aikman).

It possibly allows UCLA to go to a Pac-10 bowl
If OSU won, Oregon could still be selected as a BCS at-large, allowing us to slip into the Poinsettia Bowl. No guarantee at all though. It would depend on whether a BCS bowl, likely the Fiesta, picked Oregon or not. Doesn’t matter anymore though because Oregon is going to win.

Pete Carroll should take notes
of how to win w/ class. After the game Oregon coach Chip Kelly went to console Beavs QB Sean Canfield for a hard fought effort. Win or lose, I can never see Pete exhibiting such tact. I am glad he will not be representing the Pac 10 this year in the Rose Bowl.
