A USC student and member of the track team was in stable condition Sunday after being shot in the legs three times after leaving a fraternity-sponsored event early Friday morning, police said.

LAPD Officer J. Saldana said there was reason to believe the incident was gang-related.

USC’s students have been victims to a number of high-profile crimes this semester. In September, two USC students were sexually assaulted near university-owned housing, and a USC student was also killed in an altercation off campus.
