To the Whiney Little Bitches Who Come Out of Their Holes When We Lose -- Get the Fuck Out of Here
First a Disclaimer: This is my opinion only and does not represent the opinions of anyone formally attached to BN. I have no authority to tell anyone to come or go -- but, if I did, some of you would be gone.
This is the maddest I've been after any Bruin game, in any sport, in a long time.
Let me get one thing clear. I'm not mad that we lost. It happens.
I'm mad at the whiney little bitches who show up when things aren't going well and throw hand grenades.
I was so pissed off during the game thread, and the post game thread, that I left , went to the gym, worked out hard, and then came back to write a more level headed post -- this is the best I can do.
I really don't get it -- where do you negative people come from? You don't show up in the daily life of BN, don't make contributions to the every day threads and posts, and don't show up in the game threads when we are winning.
But, as soon as we struggle, you're there if full voice calling out players and the coaching staff -- with absolutely no substance behind your posts.
The poster boy for this phenomena? A certain commenter [BN Edit] who joined today, so that he could enlighten us with the post "JS is garbage". Josh Shipp scored 18 points on 8-14 shooting. Yes, in some ways this was not his best game, but who the fuck are you to call him "garbage"? That's not the way we treat our Bruin brothers and sisters.
Win or lose, we are a family.
And, those of us who pay attention to this family know better than most that there were gaps to be filled in this year's team -- that it was young and somewhat inexperienced, that we had 3 starters who had not played much and had lost 3 stellar players.
In a like manner, the whining and pontificating about how CBH can't coach Offense is absolutely the chant of the uninformed. We shot 49% in this game -- we have one of the most efficient offenses in the country. This was not our best game. But the problems -- shown by the numbers -- were on two fronts. We turned the ball over too many times -- which is something we have not done, lately AND we played BAD D in the first half when they shot over 60% from the field; we improved in the second half, to make the game close, and brought them down to around 50%.
My point here? We didn't lose because CBH can't coach O, we lost because we didn't execute the D that CBH is acclaimed for coaching.
Of course, you whiney little bitches didn't bother to confront those facts -- you just threw your crap out there -- bandwagon babies, without regard for its accuracy.
And of course, there are the whiney little bitches who have already written off our entire season because we lost two tough road games -- no final fours for us, no Pac 10 titles, just a "failed year".
Again, nothing could be farther from the truth. Most thoughtful commentators have said that the winner of the Pac 10 might well have 4 or 5 conference losses. Last time I looked we were tied for second in the conference. If we can take care of business at home next weekend, we can climb closer to the top. And, this may be the year where I finally love the fact that the Pac 10 has a tournament. The more experience our young and inexperienced players get, the better.
You whiney little bitches, measuring our season in poll standings and Final Fours have no idea what's going on this year, how we are building and moving forward. Yes, it is 4 steps forward and then 2 back -- but anyone who watches can see the positive side of what's happening -- even in terrible losses like this one.
Get a clue: We are not entitled, by birth, to play in a Final Four. We are not entitled, by birth to be in the top 10 in the polls, all season long. And, when you cry because we are fading in the polls and then predict that we won't get to the final four, you are acting like uninformed selfish children.
We will be where we will be when we get there. No one expected the team to go to its first Final Four, three years ago -- and it did. We might, too. And, your whining and crying will have no impact on whether we get there.
You'll just piss off those of us who try to make solid, substantive contributions to BN, every day -- the people like Blink who did an incredible statistical analysis that gave us all a basis for our comments and criticisms, and the people like the front page guys, especially Nestor, who knock them selves out posting more fact based content here than most of us would find in any sports section in the country. And, you'll piss off all of the regulars around here, the family, that gathers during the game day threads -- like buddies in a seating section at Pauley -- who know each other, trust each other, and have earned the right to be critical with their well reasoned and substantive body of posts at BN.
Oh, by the way, I don't want to hear the mantra we always here form the drive by whiners when they get called out "I was just letting off steam, I was just so frustrated."
Get a clue. These threads are not about you. Sorry, you little egocentric bitches, this is not a place for you to come and throw tantrums to express your displeasure -- at the expense of the entire community.
Need a release, throw something at the TV, but don't call out our players or call them names, our coaching staff, our moderators, or the serious posters here -- and then later try to say -- "I was frustrated".
So were we, but we managed to act like Bruins. You might want to try it.
In my eyes, some of you have dug some pretty deep holes, today. We are a forgiving place -- and if you want to fit in, I suggest you do some posts that analyze the data, or present full and complete ideas in ways that build the community not detract from it.
There is room for everyone here -- but this isn't one of those places where you can spew on line garbage posts. If that's what you want to do, there are other places to go.
Rather be here? Act like it.
Once more, the disclaimer -- these are my thoughts and mine alone. Nestor, if this is too heated for the space, I will respect your decision to pull it down. It's just that it is hard enough to analyze the game and contribute to the thread, on a bad game day, without having to confront these people.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Thank you 66...
Honestly, what bothered me the most was the fact that people were lamenting the “lost season”. Um, what? We’re 19-6, 8-4 in conference, essentially a lock for the tournament, yet the season is lost? As you said, we are not entitled to Final Fours and Pac 10 championships. We are entitled to nothing. Sometimes it feels like we are because of the incredible coaching staff we have and the incredible players we’ve had – over the last 5 or so years especially.
This team is young, inexperienced, and talented as hell. Sometimes the talent we have can actually work against us, because we think we’ll have it easier than we do. Sure, it was obvious that we weren’t prepared for this game, but there is not a single person in this community that has the right to say whether it was CBH’s fault, the players’ fault, or a combination of the two. We can guess, we can speculate, but the truth is we just don’t know. That’s why it’s absurd for anyone to call out specific players. This is a TEAM game, and we win and lose as a TEAM. In a bad game, such as this, the TEAM is responsible for the loss, and the TEAM will fix it by working together to figure out what went wrong.
IMO the most important thing to remember is that this was a mid-February game against a good, streaking opponent. This is not a tournament game. This is not the end of the season. This is a bump (albeit, a large one) in the road that can be corrected and erased if we work hard enough. I for one have confidence in CBH that he will right the ship and get us back on track. It’s a long season with ups and downs. This weekend was a down. Last 2 weeks were ups. There will be more ups, and there will be more downs before this season ends. That’s basketball. If you can’t deal with that, then leave.

I try to be level headed and positive in my body of work here.
But, too many buttons got pushed, today, so I let it fly.
Glad you are not upset with it.

It was needed
This is a community and it shouldn’t get disrupted by trolls/drive by posters who only show up in tough times. They are not part of this community, have no interest in being part of it, so they shouldn’t be able to get away with hijacking it.

Well said 66. I stand behind this team (and the 4 letters across the chest) through thick and thin, win or lose. Keep up the great posts!

In the words of Bruin legend Bill Walton
“Throw it down, big man! Throw it DOWN!”
Nestor threw down the gauntlet in the threads. Now ‘66 is doing his thing. I’m sure everything will return to normalcy.
BTW, I love the warning, the disclaimer, and the new acronym: WLB.

As the cliche goes, there's a silver lining to everything
I hope the team is learning that you just can’t show up. We are the most talented team in the conference (my opinion, of course), but you still have to play with purpose and intensity to win against anybody. These two losses hurt, for us fans to watch. But I hope they hurt the players more. They should be thoroughly embarrassed. I hope they will finish the season on a high note so they would not have to feel this way again.
We creamed Notre Dame, who turned right around and routed Louisville. There’s something positive in that somewhere.

Love the Passion
But perhaps some of the message is slightly misguided? I know I don’t post on here very often – but when I do I try and keep it as positive as possible. I would love to contribute and become a more integrated member of this community – but I have a dissertation to finish and it drives my wife crazy when I post on these blogs when she knows darn well that I could be one step closer to finishing this freaking doctoral program that I have been in for 5 years and counting. Nonetheless, just because I do not post on this site with the regularity that I would like to – should not exclude me from feeling like a member of this community. I know I don’t have to personalize 66’s post – but I guess I was a little put off by how his message was conveyed. I mean I absolutely love his passion – but propagating unnecessary excoriations to the “negative” WLB – and calling them a series of expletives – basically because they are criticizing our beloved Bruin athletes – seems at least mildly hypocritical. At worst – this message feels like an incendiary bully epistle – essentially warning everyone that they must conform to communal standards or risk the wrath of BN elder abuse. Don’t you think you could have called out the WLB’s by using rational dialectics – utilizing “facts” and “stats?” If I have learned anything from my time at UCLA – - it’s that my most profound power lies in my ability and willingness to use my mind. The passion that you express in your message to the WLB’s mirrors the passion that they experience when they watch Bruin athletics (unfortunately, the passion is filtered through a negative and critical lens).
One of the most endearing qualities of this site (at least as experienced by me) – is that I know that there is a community of fans that feel something similar to what I feel about UCLA and its athletic programs. I try and digest as much Bruin information as I possible can – and I absolutely love the direction that our football and basketball programs are heading in. In particular, I love that CBH has raised the proverbial basketball bar to such a level that we do expect greatness each year. Beyond that – we probably take for granted that our BB Warrior’s will come to fight with passion, integrity, intelligence, and purpose each and every game. Unfortunately, the game that I watched (tivo’d because of my wife again – which also explains why I am constructing this message so late – I have to wait until she goes to bed) today seemed to lack many of the qualities that we have come to expect with UCLA basketball in the BH era. If you read Nestor’s post immediately following the game – you can easily sense his disgust with our performance. As soon as I finished watching the game – I immediately checked this website because I needed to find a place where I knew that others could understand the terrible feeling that I was experiencing. While I certainly agree that it is uncalled for to write derogatory things about our players and coaches – I think most of us could at least understand where that type of passion comes from. I know that some of the things that I was shouting at my flat screen during the game would certainly have necessitated a warning label much like 66’s post. That’s why I come to this website – so I can have a forum to adequately process my joy and grief. Generally, someone else posts something that captures my point of view or feelings better than I can – so I simply read what is available and take consolation in knowing that WE get it.
I’m sorry if this post puts me at odds with anyone here on this wonderful website – I would hate to become a veritable pariah here on BN. However, this is one of the few times that I have felt compelled to react to something that was posted. I truly enjoy the insight that just about everyone shares here at BN – especially the insight of those who are regular contributor’s (that definitely includes 66). I just thought that it might be valuable for some Bruin’s fans out there to understand that your passion is understood – but in general it probably does not help a great deal to transform that passion into extreme and vitriolic negativity. Instead, just relax and know that others are out there who feel your pain – and most importantly know that CBH and his warriors feel it more intensely than any of us.
Final part of this post – following up on the last sentence – knowing that CBH is likely to take this loss personally gives me great confidence and satisfaction. I knew that we would have some growing pains this year (with occasional glimpses of excellence) – but I think the most disappointing aspect of today’s loss was the manner (characterologically speaking) in which we lost it. There appears to be a lack of a certain type of necessary leadership on this team (much like we have had with each of the previous three FF teams). I also think that our absence of a true interior presence really hurt us (Jordan Hill was a monster in tonight’s game – 8 offensive rebounds). Furthermore, CBH has forced the rest of the Pac-10 to completely transform the way that basketball is played in conference. Can you recall Arizona playing defense like that any time recently? Every team seems to placing greater emphasis on defense – and I believe that this will actually work in our favor. If we can face physical teams in a regular basis in conference – it will put us in greater position to succeed once March begins. I gotta believe that CBH will have this team peaking come tournament time (I wish Morgan was ready to go). It’s going to be tough to make it to the Final Four again this year – but I would love to see this talented group of freshman get some deep tourney experience. Next year’s class is yet another stellar class (I hope that we can get greedy with our recruiting). Of course, if JH decides to go to the NBA (which Chad Ford predicts he will be a top 10 pick – hard to pass up) – that will definitely hurt us next year. It must be very difficult to achieve any type of consistent greatness in today’s college basketball landscape (with your best players often leaving after one or two years of school). That just shows how great CBH has truly been. I know that 66 stated that we shouldn’t feel entitled to FF’s – but winning is addictive – and it’s hard to go without it (especially when I can remember the Lavin era so vividly).
Alright – I definitely went on for too long – sorry if it comes off as I am overly sententious – I just wanted to offer a different perspective. I know that my wife (she went to a small private university) doesn’t get my intense passion for UCLA sports – and that’s why I love this community. That’s why I think it’s important that others understand that they are welcome here too. Perhaps the regular contributors can help guide the misguided – by modeling what mature fandom looks like. That’s another thing that I enjoy about this site – I have learned how to become a more informed, rational, and efficient fan – simply through BN osmosis. Furthermore, we should look at our revered basketball leader BH for instruction on how to handle adversity – and I imagine he would provide solid structure, accountability, and encouragement (along with some of the greatest coaching in the world).
Well, I look forward to the next set of games – I bet BB Warrior’s come out with fire in their collective eyes. I guarantee that my emotions will be all revved up – and I can’t wait to share in the emotional salad bowl that is BN after our game.

Good thoughts
I see where you are coming from however I think folks need to understand how 66 and many of us do not appreciate the drive by trolling from people who don’t engage or are part of this community.
First of all, I don’t believe 66 is suggesting that you have to post here constantly to become a bonafide member of this community. I think anyone can become a member of this community if he or she reads it regularly, are aware of all the nuanced narratives and issues related UCLA we discuss on a day to basis. We have had many instances when number of lurkers made their first time post or comments after being well aware of the ongoing discussions here on BN.
What we will not tolerate though is people coming in here and launch senseless attacks on our coaches, players, and other members/moderators of this community. If you go to any community, bar where everyone knows each other, they are not going to appreciate if a random stranger drops by just to launch insults/attacks against people who are adored in that community.
Yes, the post I wrote immediately after the game was laced with frustration and anger. I do believe our coaches and players should be embarrassed for the effort we saw in yesterday’s game, particularly in the first half and early second. But I didn’t call Howland names or denigrate one of our seniors as “garbage.” That is just unacceptable and warrants kind of response 66 posted above. We have never tolerated that kind of BS, don’t tolerate it now and will never accept it here on BN.
If folks want to be part of this community, then they have to learn something about it and respect what goes on here. There is definite room for respectful disagreement here. I know I have had my share of disagreements with 66 and many others including frontpagers. That is fine. However, that doesn’t mean we are going to accept attacks from strangers on coaches, players and the teams we love.

Thanks for Clarifying
I have to acknowledge that I did not read through all of the game thread posts – so I was not fully aware of the “discussion” that was taking place. Additionally, I would absolutely defend – with great rigor and passion – individuals or groups that were a part of my intimate community. I can certainly appreciate the defense (against senseless attacks) of our players, coaches, and communal bloggers. I think the point was that it could have been done in a way that didn’t essentially mimic the name calling that was being perpetuated by the WLB’s (don’t get me wrong – I actually love that acronym – and plan on using it liberally). Furthermore, I’m a huge fan of implemented structure – so I truly do appreciate when it is fairly appropriated.
Thanks for replying to my post – I genuinely appreciate how this website operates and I’m glad that a sophisticated discussion can take place. I also truly appreciate 66’s contributions – I have often read his posts with admiration and gratitude. Honestly my response was at least to some extent a knee jerk reaction (although by the time I was finishing my post I almost decided to retract it – sorry for the length). I can’t even imagine how much energy, time, and heart that you pour into this site – and I know that something this cherished should be protected.
Thanks

To my surprise, the sun came up on Sunday. It will continue to come up as the season progresses. Let’s get ready for the next game. We’ll have fights about that one as usual, but we’ll all get over it and move on.

Good post. I dont post here much either, mostly because others already say the things I want to. To all you managers, This does not mean I don’t like the team. I absolutely love this schoo, team, and everyone on here that puts in good input. All of you ancient roman and greek times username people (managers) do an excellent job and just wanted to make sure you guys knew that
I love this team like every other person on here that’s not a LWB and its times like these that really bring out our true side. I know we will stick together here at BN.
As far as next year, Do you guys really see JH leaving? being honest, I don’t think he’s had anything close to a standout game this year that would be an example of why he’s top ten. I know all about potential, but I just hope he realizes he should come back to the greatest school for at least another year.
Also, what will our starting lineup and bench look like next year, with and without JH? Thanks.

My apologies...no excuses
Well, I won’t try and hide behind the anonymity of internet, so I’ll just flat out admit I was the poster who stated "JS is garbage." It seems to have sparked up some serious rage in this community (and understandably so). I’ve read all the posts (as I usually do) and I’ll admit it was a stupid statement, uncalled for, and is unworthy of any sort of defense. I hope that this (sincere) apology brings some closure to the obvious rage that it has conjured up. I know I could’ve simply not bothered to make any more posts or show my face around here (as requested by Class of 66), but I felt that I owed this community more than that.
Yes, I was angry, frustrated, and felt that I wanted more out of JS as a senior…I know you can look at his stat sheet and say his numbers weren’t bad at all. However, as I was watching the game, I was just so frustrated over the timing of his fouls and his turnovers. I know we’re a young team, but I expected more composure out of JS, but it was wrong to call him “garbage”. JS and DC are our only real experienced starting seniors [yes aboya provides senior leadership, but he hasn’t had the starting experience of the other 2]. I was just so angry after that game, that I just started getting pissed about anything and everything. Perhaps a few of you can relate to that feeling. However, I should NOT have called JS out in the way that I did and it was a MISTAKE plain and simple.
Mind you, I’ve been reading about how people are pissed and are calling out CBH. I also saw the "MORONS" post by Nestor from the LAT. I’m not one of those bastards, nor am I their posterchild. I think CBH is truly the caretaker of Westwood. I started my years at UCLA under stupid Lavin and ended my senior year with CBH taking us to the championship game. Bringing this program back to the point of respect and character is something that we will always be indebted to Howland for. I will never call for CBH to hang it up until he’s damn well ready to and on his own terms. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person just before the start of this basketball season, and the man is all class. I wouldn’t second guess his judgment or his tactics. However, I should not have gone after the roster in an unacceptable way.
Yes, I know I’m not a regular poster, but you would be mistaken if I wasn’t an avid daily reader of this forum for the last year and a half. I like being able to come to this forum and read what others have to say about the SPTRs after I see a horrid call on TV. I like seeing how this community keeps up with our past Ben Ball Warriors that have gone off to the NBA. I still respect this community and their insight.
When I first read this post, I was a bit turned off at first to see someone that was 10+ years older than my dad acting in such a way. Especially hearing how my off handed (admittedly regrettable and wrong) remark could send someone’s whole day off for a loop to the point where he would feel the need to go cool off for hours and still be THAT pissed when he came back…but all in all, I can still see where Class of 66 was coming from. It helped when I read the words of Nestor comparing this community to your local community bar. I can understand the reaction of the "regulars" in that case. Anyways, I appreciate the passion and the fire. Again, I take back my remarks and I apologize.
I will always wish the best to UCLA and my fellow alumni. UCLA basketball will always hold a special place in my heart as a sports fan. Even though I’m from LA and love my Lakers basketball, I would rather see Bynum AND Kobe out with knee injuries (of course I don’t really wish them any harm) if it meant that Coach Wooden would get to see that 12th banner raised up in Pauley. Nothing compares to UCLA basketball Take care, and in the spirit of the Wizard of Westwood and The Caretaker…let’s all stay classy Bruins.

Good Response
And, it wasn’t just you that brought about the reactions.
In all sports, we suffer drive by gunners when times get tough. Yesterday, was one of the worst for this type of thing I’ve seen.
This was a message to all of them.
BTW — This has nothing to do with dissent or disagreement. It has a lot to do with the way it is done. If you read the threads, you’ll see there was a lot of disagreement between some regulars about declaring the game over before it officially was. We did it respectfully.

I may have to develop some very special mojo for moments like this.
As I write, I realize that my very special comeback mojo was my Dad. We watched both Tyus and the Gonzaga game together in the family den — wow, I really miss him.
Funny how mojo means so much to us at game time. Do you, or the others have similar things you do in other parts of your life?

On Mojo
Both my brother and my husband race drag boats. You’ve never seen so many “mojo” sequences. My brother cannot race unless his wife is there, because the one and only time he did…you guessed it, bad, bad crash. (These things go 215 mph across the water.) Nobody else can put my husband’s boat in the water but me—things go wrong when somebody else backs him in. There are special words written inside the capsules, gear has to be put on in a special order, the “right” person has to check plugs and fuel, there has to be a smudge on the alcohol boat just as it goes in….
…it’s positively nutty.
(It must work. Between the two of them, they won 2 National championships, one Division Championship, the Pro Driver of the Year, and a Division Runner-Up title for 2008.)

The Need for Speed
I turned the sound up. I love the sound of a good engine and the smell of methanol or alcohol based fuels.
I used to race go karts.
And, I’ve been a mechanic on an Indy Car team.
Never done boats but have watched them.
Do they ever race in Texas? There’s also a weekend in the summer in Ironwood, Michigan.
There’s not much better than going very, very fast.
sjh
PS. My favorite street race course? Sunset Blvd, toward the Palisades, in the very early morning hours. I used to edit in a post-house in Hollywood — to save money we’d take the shift that ended at 3AM. On the way home to the beach, i’d pick up a race or 2 on the Boulevard. I had fun, fun, fun, ’til my family took the Mistsubishi VR4 away because I was a father and could not act my age. I now have a Mini-Cooper with a race engine in it so that I can get that rush that only speed can give. (Non-chemical speed, that is.)
BTW — I still can’t act my age. My wife, who met me at UCLA when I was 17, says that I never got past being 17. That’s why I found a comment in this thread to be so funny — the one where the poster is shocked by my language because I’m at least 10 years older than his dad. Someone once turned to me and said “You can only be young once, but you can be immature all of your life.” Some day I’ll put his comment into the proper context.

Both my brother and my husband are old enough to know better, but they are—simply put—completely addicted to the speed. They both have built old “big-motor” cars—a ’67 Chevelle, and a ’68 Dodge Dart. The cars are pretty much sitting right now, because of the boats.
As for Sunset, I totally get it. I had my little 1969 302 Mustang when I went to UCLA, and I lived in the Palisades (on Toyopa) for a little while. Irresistable.
To be honest, absolutely nobody in my family acts their age. So, I think it’s all perfectly normal.

IMHO
it’s not my place to speak for BN, but from a personal standpoint, this post is truly appreciated. I will admit that in my life I have said many things in the heat of the moment that I later regretted terribly. I’d like to think that I learned from those times and acted better with the experience. I think we all make mistakes, and things we are passionate about also create the opportunity to spark more inflammatory responses. Learning to focus that passion, especially in times of disappointment, but also with success, is an important step. It is difficult to publicly acknowledge a mistake and say sorry. I’m glad that time and reflection have clarified your response and I will welcome anyone who puts the Bruins first and his own feelings second. And I hope that I am always able to remember and practice my own words.

thanks
Thanks for the response Gbruin and Class of 66. I definitely dont’ plan on being a drive by gunner, and I hope to be able to make positive contributions to these discussions in the future.
I would have posted that apology sooner, but I really wanted to take some time to soak it all in and get my head clear. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade our group of guys for another. I don’t think there’s another team that has the same mix of talent AND character that I would want to represent UCLA. Coach Howland will take care of this team. Out of all the 3 final 4s, my favorite was still the first tournament run. I remember it seemed that every single round of that tournament the media had us picked to lose, and every single round all the way up until Florida we proved them wrong. That was the most satisfying—-seeing the Bruins taking their respect when it wasn’t given to them. Maybe we’ll see some of that coming off of this lost. —-plus I really want DC to come away with something for coming back for his senior year.
BTW—-For me, even if my head says the game is over, I never turn off the tube. I hate seeing fans empty out of the stadium before the game is called. So even if I’m watching at home, I’ll watch every minute win or lose. I hope the rest of the team catches some of the fire from DG and lays a serious smack down on the Huskies and all the critics.

It was a tough weekend
I was on a retreat and missed the Arizona debacle. I’ll watch it on DVR tomorrow. In general, I would like to see DC and JS be a little less cool and play with more obvious fire. That being said, I wouldn’t trade our boys or our coach for any program in the nation. We’ve created a hole for ourselves, and I look forward to our boys fighting their way out. I love this team, and I am proud to be a Bruin.
As far as the posts are concerned, we are all a little frustrated, and I think we’ll all cool down in a couple of days. Go Bruins!

Of course we support the team...
Did anyone expect to run away with the conference and cruise to the Final Four with a team that lost 3 NBA players? (If they returned, AA2, Drag, and JH wouldn’t be starting.) A team that has no true center or dominating power forward? A team whose best talent, excepting DC, are some freshmen who have no experience with the Howland system, or NCAA competition? For some time I have been predicting that they will make the tournament, win one or two games, then be eliminated. It’s not the end of the world to make Sweet 16 in these circumstances.

Stay away trojies & bandwagon fans
Hey Nestor, just wondering if there is possibility that some low class trojies might try to get on BN and ruffle our feathers by posting idiotic and negative comments about the Bruins, and CBH & CRN? Especially on the game threads
Is there a way to monitor or block them from this blog?

It's pretty clear when a person is a trojie in disguise. Errors in basic
grammar, improper syntax and a thorough-bred misunderstanding of all subjects clearly serves as warning flags for such individuals. They are easy to spot.
What I do think would help eliminate some of the “frustration” bloggers, is a system that requires a certain time period to pass before one is allowed to a) post at all and b) post with rapid succession. This form of slow “initiation” would probably prevents lots of the so-called “drive by” posers. I am, however, unaware of such a system on other blogs and my knowledge of the capabilities of SBN’s software is likewise limited, so its implementation may be impossible.

Wouldn't work
Those delayed postings are for newspaper blogs where they want to make sure the language is proper, etc. Some poor bastard has to sit there, I assume, and read the posts before pushing the buttons to accept them. I don’t think anyone here wants that responsibility! We just have to keep monitoring the threads ourselves for any of these morons and just let them have it when they post stupid comments.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
