Moser named to Hoop Summit team

Every year, Nike holds its Hoop Summit event where top international players go against top high school seniors. The Hoop Summit differs from the Jordan and McDonalds All American games in that it is more focused on solid team play and defense as opposed to dunks and hype. The main reason for this is that the name of the team on the front of their jerseys is "USA."

Last year UCLA dominated this game with JH, ML, JA, and DG all playing. This year, our very own Mike Moser has been selected to represent his country. Moser was an Arizona recruit who saw the light after Olsen retired and decided to come to Westwood (something that makes me feel a little bit better about last Saturday).

What is interesting is that he is by far the lowest ranked player on the 10 man team. However, he is the only small forward on the roster. I don't know what to take away from that: Is Moser the best small forward in America and yet is still that lowly ranked? Probably not, but I know I will be watching.

With the apparent addition of McDonalds and Jordan All American Renardo Sidney, this next class could be nearly as good as the current group of freshman.
