You don't want to go jumping to conclusions
I know this has all the earmarks of a typical trOJan thugball player attending Senora Ross’s Spanish Class, but it might not be. It might be a shot of the audience during Cheatie’s lecture on ncaa compliance. Well, it can’t be the latter, because the subject is never discussed. OK. Cue Emily Litella – “Never Mind.”
You people are soooo....

After pulling an all-nighter cramming for his Practical Sociology practicum, it’s no wonder he’s a bit worn out. Hey, at least he didn’t make the police blotter.
Hmmm
How’s he gonna learn those dance steps if he’s not watching the instructor?
greg in denver - UCLA guy for life
Once went on a tour of Fig. Tech.
Back in High School, circa 1982, with my friend who was contemplating going there to attend film school. The tour guide (whom by the end of the day we called “Mr. BMOC”) came up with the oft quoted line: “You pay for a private education… and you get it.”
I did the same about two weeks ago!
I was surprised to hear some of the following claims by the guy that runs the admissions department himself. “there is no minimum GPA to get into USC.” “1 in 4 transfer students get into USC” He also said he is often asked by out of state parents if USC is really “in the hood” as they have so often heard. His reply? “If you are really concerned with your child’s safety, come down and see the area for yourself, and make your own determination.” That’s a great way not to answer a question.
Another interesting tidbit I picked up was USC’s commitment to financial aid, and making USC affordable for their students. They mentioned the many scholarships, grants, and student loans available to incoming students. It gave me the impression they are painfully aware they’re asking to much for a second rate edumacation.

I don't know what it's like today
But when I was a senior in high school, one of my friends got accepted there. At the time, tuition was about $30K a year. They offered her a $7K grant. Her father’s response, “That’s great, but where I am supposed to get the other $23K?” She went to UCLA.

There is an ulterior motive here...
This is actually a recruiting tool by Pete Cheat. When Neuheisel or Chow or Bullogh or Lake try to persuade a player to come to UCLA to “work hard, learn a lot, be part of an exciting football future, and get a prized degree from one of the top schools in the country,” Pete Cheat jumps in with the Travon Patterson alternative: “party hard, learn very little, be part of a flamboyant thug culture, and don’t even think about a degree — Sanchez got one, and look what the coach did to him!”
