By the end of the 2011 season, CRN will have had four years of his recruits to compare against four years of Pete Carroll's. I am going to really go out on a limb here, but I hereby go on record as predicting that more of Pete's recruits will have found their way into criminal charges and/or NCAA rulebreaking scandals than Rick's will have. Obviously this is a tough call to make, since SC "owns the police" and therefore can suppress a certain amount of activity, and since SC also has friends at the L.A. Times whom Bill Dwyre admits don't scrutinize indications of wrongdoing and therefore keep certain material under a cone of silence. Nonetheless I am guardedly confident that the sheer volume of study-phobic role models, character-challenged athletes, and thugs, will continue to keep USC as National #1 on the Telemachus scandal log.
