WTF? Tennessee fans point to Neuheisel to explain Lane's boo boo?
Tennessee fans are so desperate to make excuses for Petey's stupid protege's booboo that they are blaming Neuheisel for it:
The Rick Neuheisel theory. This is sort of an amalgam of the bless his heart and prison rules theory, only motivated more by delusions of grandeur than by spite, bravado, or a sense of self-preservation. It's a little brother's desperate attempt to show his big brother that he can't pick on him. It's usually met with a laugh or an unceremonious wedgie. Or both.
I will not link because BN folks does not want us link to trash but that came from SBN's Tennessee blog. I thought those guys were pretty classy this year before our game but that is just a really dumb cheap shot.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

what?
how, from any convoluted train of thought, could this possibly make any kind of sense?

things have changed
They were classy before our game last year, when they thought following their team to Pasadena was going to make a nice Labor Day weekend vacation capped with an easy win in the Rose Bowl. It didn’t happen though. We embarrassed them big time on national TV. I live in Nashville and flew out for the game (and a wedding), the plane ride home was a sea of silent sad orange fans with 2 ecstatic UCLA fans wearing Bruin Blue. The best part was when the plane landed the flight attendant says over the intercom “Welcome to Nashville, GO BRUINS!”. I really believe that game last year was a defining moment for both programs. Can’t wait for my trip to Knoxville!

This Is Nothing To Be Bothered By, In My Opinion
This was just one portion of a FanPost, and if you read the comments, you’ll see that the Neuheisel aspect doesn’t really get any support. In fact, one commenter actually mentions that if you’re looking for a So Cal analogy, that it was actually USC and Ken Norton Jr who can be criticized for making false accusations during recruting.
Obviously, this particular fan is still bitter about the loss to UCLA last season and isn’t a fan of Neuheisel, but let’s be careful not to implicate the entire UT fanbase because of it. If anything, we should actually give them our sympathy. As UCLA fans, our wounds are still fresh and we know all too well the pain that comes from having your AD make a program destroying hire. Nobody deserves to have Lane Kiffin leading their program.

It was not just a single fan
It was not just “one portion of a Fanpost”
It was a Fanpost that was promoted on the center page . You are right we shouldn’t implicate the entire UT fanbase over it but I thought I had to call it out because it was on their home page with also a not so subtle cheap shot against that “monopoly” ad which Neuheisel had nothing to do with.

damien thigpen
was told by lame and his staff that he wasn’t going to fit his program.
on signing day lame’s foot seemed to fit perfectly in his mouth when mentioning urban meyer’s recruting tactics.
apparently some UT fans feel it is necessary to be like their head coach.
all’s i can say is see you all in the fall

Actually,
It’s a fine day when things have to get this extraordinarily convoluted and devoid of all reason and logic to connect one of our coaches with wrongdoing.
