OSU game isn't on TV?!?!
I was just checking the UCLA schedule to see what time the Senior Day game against Oregon was at, and was shocked to see that this Thursday's game against Oregon State isn't on TV. How Fox Sports in its infinite wisdom leaves the second to last game of the season off of local television is beyond me. I cant wait to see what crappy countdown rerun they have on or Pepperdine-St Mary's like they had on instead of the ASU-UW game last week.
Can you listen to the radio broadcast online? I know for Laker games AM 570 blacks out the online stream of their radio feed.
Probably not entirely his fault, but if there is blame to be dealt, let me be the first to say, "Thank you Tom Hansen. Don't let the door hit you on the way out."
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

The Cal-Arizona game in the Pac 10's national game on Thursday
and it’s an exclusive game so no other Pac 10 game can be on TV at the same time, per the conference’s contract with FSN. UCLA would have to move the game to either 5:30 or 9:30 to get the game on TV.

FSN has 2 networks
That is the dumbest agreement evah!!! FSN has two networks, thus, should broadcast two games. Hello Commissioner Hansen!!! Geez, its Thursday too so any NBA games are going to be on TNT (i.e. No Laker or Clipper games to show). Again, I cant wait to see which repeated countdown they show….alright I will watch the Cal-AZ game, but I wont be happy about it.

Go St. Marys!
Sorry, but it was my local college – bunch of friends went there.

Fairly sure they black out radio for UCLA games too
Darn it! No TV on Thursday?! We can’t crack “Wow, I didn’t know that the OSU coach was the president’s brother in law” jokes when the announcers mention it 20 times?

Also
“Did you know that the President is quite the basketball fan.” “Sure did, he even has thought about putting in a basketball court in the White House.” Ugh. Two things sports people should never discuss because they just look stupid: law and politics. Law they dont understand and just throw around words, and politics they assume all of their listeners agree with the political views when a good percentage almost assuredly don’t.

I have no problem with them mentioning it the first time
Objectively it’s a pretty interesting story…the first time you tell it. The second time is for maybe the few people that didn’t hear you the first time. I’ve heard about this relationship about 100 times now. Time for the color guys to get some new stories/information.

Vote NO, Btruins, Vote NO!
Vote NO by turning down the sound on the TV and turning off the radio. Sure, we got spoiled by Vinnie and Chick, and sure there will never be another Vinnie or another Chick. But that doesn’t mean we have to tolerate idiocy and inanity. Don’t complain about it, just don’t listen. You don’t have to listen to stupid announcers to follow what’s happening by way of Yahoo Sports or something similar. And you sure don’t get aggravated by blowhards talking about things they know very little about.
Vote NO on announcers.

FSN graphics
While I am ranting about FSN, after watching our game on ESPN, could it be any more painfully obvious how poorly run FSN is. Their graphics look like things you would see on the local access channel telling you about when the city council meeting is. Their picture always seems to be off color and they choose to go to inexplicable camera shots at the worst times.

WHAT!?!?!
I’ve never hated Tom Hansen more than I do right…now.

I listened to the Tyus Edney moment on radio.
Had to pull over while on the freeway to prevent something really stupid from happening. It is mind boggling that between the schools, conference and broadcast partner they could not find a way to get the game on air.
It’s got to be on some premium pay per view package we can watch at a bar. (BTW it would be interesting to see a bar full of people listening to the radio broadcast of a game.)

This has irritated me for YEARS
Every game should be on SOME channel. If you have DirecTV sports package there are like 30 Fox Channels. Can’t you use ONE of them? No, we have to have some dumb agreement to not show 2 Pac-10 games at the same time if one is “exclusive”? Sure, I get that is the most attractive and meaningful Pac-10 game that night for the general fan, but come on! It’s almost the end of the season and no UCLA broadcast? Terrible.

What the...
Is this for real? Has there been any precedent like this with a regular season PAC-10 game? So ridiculous…

Hold on....
Latest word is to wait and see tomorrow. There is a pettition from the athletic dept to get it on TV. I actually think it will be broadcast somehow.

i hope so
where did you hear this from?

This has happened before.
In reality, given that it is OSU, I’m not all the surprised—because generally the last weekend tv schedule isn’t set at the beginning of the year.
However, in the past, game times have moved to accomodate UCLA fans usually. So let’s hope that happens again.

on a related note
our game against oregon was expected to be a good contest and has been scheduled for Saturday on ABC. All I know is we better dominate.

This ties into an idea I had for a post
I was going to look at our current TV deal and possible alternatives to our TV deal. Things like the exclusive game aren’t as cut and dry as we may think and there are some other interesting things to take into consideration. If I find the time, I’ll try to get that post done tomorrow or Wednesday. If not it may have to wait until after the basketball season when we’re not all so crazy with Senior Day, Pac 10 Tournament, NCAA Tournament.

It's on FSN Prime Ticket
To bad we don’t get it up here in Portland. You guys will probably kill us anyway.

But...
Prime Ticket is a paid premium channel, so why would that be? (Clearly, I don’t understand broadcast standards and laws as well as I should.)
