Even more hate coming from MSM.
9. VCU plus 7 vs. UCLA: I fully expect UCLA to mail it in. The Bruins know they're not a Final Four team. Ben Howland isn't going to pad his contract with a Sweet Sixteen run. Why not cut the trip to Philly short and get back to Cali as soon as possible? Seriously. Meanwhile, Anthony Grant is eying jobs in the SEC (Alabama) and ACC (Virginia). Slapping around UCLA would pretty much cement his BCS resume. You gotta love VCU on the money line. The Rams 70-67.

ya, why even go to Phili?
i mean the purpose is to get to Detroit, and we’re not good enough, so why even play the game tomorrow?
If teams like George Mason would have subscribed to this B.S. they would have never done what they did a couple years back.

70-67 = Slapping around?
He thinks DC, Shipp and Aboya are going to mail it in? Idiot.

and also
just for the record, I have no problem with people picking against us. I have plenty of picks that fan bases would take issue with around the country. That’s part of what comes with being a sports writer.
BUT…if your reason is that a group of seniors playing the last games of their career, who have stated that the season was all about the tournament, just “won’t show up” that’s just bad reporting. Yahoo! seems to have a lot of writers who just put down whatever they want without ever doing any resemblance of research.

Whitlock
can be the biggest dolt, sometimes.
He was wrong on 1. (77-64, Akron was winning by 6 at the half), 2. (81-70 and CSN led for most of the 2nd half, and only an unprecedented freak show shooting streak by Sallie saved the Tigers), 5. ( A & M by 13), 6. (Washington by 13, and the Bulldogs never got closer than 11 points back), 8. (Texas beat Minnesota by 14, and the Gophers didn’t get closer than 12 points for the final 10 minutes), 9. (Obviously), and 10. (Michigan by 3.)
No.‘s 3., 4., and 7. haven’t happened yet, but Dayton is up by 7 on W.V. right now. Whitlock could go 0 for 10 on this, quite easily.
If Jason really told his lawyer to bet all this, and he did, the guy should sue him.
