Jerry Rice, Jr. to walk on
Hopefully he'll be as good as his Dad, at the least it brings a little media attention to Bruin football.

Wow
The son of my child hero playing at my alma mater. I couldn’t be happier.

You beat me to it.
Ditto for me!

Haha
I used to have this Jerry Rice poster with him celebrating after a TD that said: “101. Just Did It”. I wish I still had that.

I still have mine!
But I think mine is the updated one with over 101 Touchdown Passes. Love that poster. I’m pretty sure it’s in my old room at my parents house.

i've never seen him play
but a friend of mine at school went to high school with him and said he’s a really cool guy. She said he’s not cocky like you’d expect from a football star and is really down to earth considering his talent and parentage. Good to know we’re adding another high character kid.
I plead ignorance
Can someone explain to me if he was recruited by UCLA and is walking on to save a scholarship (because his family can afford the tuition)? Or was he not recruited by UCLA (or not offered a scholarship) and just decided to attend the school and walk-on to the football team? Additionally, was he recruited by other schools?
Either way, it is exciting to have someone with his pedigree and talent (his highlights remind me of Matthew Slater) who will be coached by some of the best in the business. Too bad Matthew didn’t get that kind of coaching while he matriculated…
