Center Court: Ben Ball (Oregon) Senior Day Open Thread
Oregon Ducks at UCLA Bruins, Mar 7, 2009 12:30 PM PST
So ready or not here we go. We are going to get started early today.
I don't have much to add to what we have been saying and writing honoring our three seniors since the end of the last game. Time to close out another glorious chapter of these three Ben Ball warriors with their last Pauley game thread:

Yep those were images from 05-06 season, which also happened to be the first year of BN. BTW today you might want to use "wide" setting (you can select the option from the top of our left hand column) to view the pics for this game thread.
As I mentioned in our game thread since this game is being broadcast on ABC regional lot of us are not going to get to watch it. So please consider posting play by play, commentaries, as much as you can for rest of the BNers outside California.
The tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 pm PST. You can track it via the official site. And as always if you are watching the game, share your instant thoughts/commentary here in our game thread.
Fire away.
GO BRUINS.

espn360.com is streaming the game
As a person who’s spent most of this season outside of SoCal, I’ve found that even without having cable or satellite television, I’ve been able to find a live video stream of almost every game. This time, those outside of the regional coverage can legally watch it online as long as your ISP carries the service.
And of course there’s always justin.tv, which is more hit-or-miss but has made it possible for me to see the season.
Just don’t want anyone to not be able to see the game when they could be watching…

ESPN Full Court Package
If you’re a subscriber, and you’re not getting the UCLA game on your local ABC feed, you’ll be able to see it on one of the Full Court channels. On DirecTV, it’ll be channel 723. (At least in NYC it is.)

Somewhat OT; the NCAA has handed down sanctions on FSU for a 2006-07 cheating scandal
In addition 4 years of NCAA probation and scholarship reductions over the next 3 years, the football likely willvacate all of its wins from 2006 and 2007.
While this would mean that the Bruins’ Emerald Bowl performance from 2006 would vanish from the record books, sadly the ‘music’ of Seminole Country will still haunt my dreams.

Cal v. ASU
Cal looks like crap near the end of the 1st half – teams in the pac this year can look like world beaters in one game and terrible the next – maybe it’s a testament to the parity in the conference or maybe it’s in every conference and I just notice it cause that’s my region….

They've missed a lot of wide open 3s
uncharacteristic, as they have a few sharpshooters

Bless my Slingbox
I’m sitting in a gym in College Station, Texas.
Jen’s WinterGuard has just performed and we will wait most of the day for the competition to end and for her scores.
I’ll watch the game on my Slingbox and comment here — so long as my battery lasts.
Please, if you are in Pauley, gives us reports on the ceremonies.
With you all electronically.

10 minutes on the countdown clock
The place is more packed than it usually is and there’s a definite buzz in the arena. Only 3 of the 6 upper level student sections are full.

The senior day festivities are over
PAA, DC and JS were joined by Jamie Diefenbach and a student manager. Everyone got loud applauses and the two louder cheers came for a comment about PAA’s hustle and that Diefenbach was on the AD’s Honor Roll seven times.

Can't we get a freaking restraining order against him?
by Raisin on Mar 7, 2009 12:35 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
In one sense
I feel sorry for him.
His ongoing bitterness is actually a sign of how hurt by the way his UCLA years ended. It’s kinda like how I could be really bitter about ex-girlfriends – until I found someone better and moved on, at which point the bitterness went away and I was over it. Thankfully, I have an awesome wife.
Sadly for Lavin, there are no “girlfriends” to look forward to in his basketball life.

ESPN360 Blackout Question
If my ESPN360 won’t show the Bruins game, is this because local ABC is carrying the game in my region?
If so, I would love to hear of a live feed (justin.tv, anywhere else) if anyone finds one.

Josh dunks/layups
He seems to not be able to make up his mind when he goes up for point blank dunks at times. I think he is tempted to throw it down everytime (to make a statement) and sometimes the physical momentum isn’t there. Seen that happen to him more than a couple times this year.
