Pac-10 Conference Honors: DC, JS, PAA, JH make the lists
OK, the Pac-10 Office just released their Conference Honors List on its website, and our Ben Ball Warriors are all well-represented.

Jrue Holiday -- All-Freshmen Team:
I'm proud of all of our guys, but especially proud of PAA being named for All-Defensive Team. With all of us reasonably concerned in pre-season about PAA's ability to harness his high-energy, even higher-impact game and avoid foul trouble, I think PAA's efforts this year prove just how far he's come in his 4 years here. Smart player, smart play.
Other notes on these honors:
-- The 1st Team actually includes TEN players. The 2nd Team only names FIVE... and our 'friends' across town still didn't get anybody on the 1st team.
-- The D team names FIVE players. The Freshmen Team names SIX players. Huh?

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Congrats to everyone!
Was kinda hoping that Darren would be named Player of the Year as a sort of “lifetime achievement” award, but it was wishful thinking.
N -- Thanks for the editorial assist, bro.

Harden and not the SPTR?!?!
Really?!?! I mean when any objective viewer looks at the Pac 10 games this season, the “player on the court” who had by far the most impact on the outcome of games was clearly the SPTR. They all should get a special award….hmmm……any ideas?
LMAO
Yeah and just have a statue of the ref from the Stanford or Cal game (I cant remember which) who in his zest for calling a charge punched the other team’s player in the face. To funny.
Heh
During our game at Cal the crew was so bad, members of our watch party and myself would just burst out laughing in exasperation over the idiocy of their calls about every 20 seconds. It was like watching a movie that was so bad it was funny. Think: Plan 9 from Outer Space.
Few people know
that “Plan 9 from Outer Space” is also foul occasionally called by Pac-10 refs, as in “You wonder where in hell THAT came from?”
And, no one was a bigger beneficiary than Harden
I wonder if he can drive without pushing off with his “off arm”.
sjh
Wonder how that'll get called
in the NCAA tournament…should be at least one offensive foul per game.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
Agreed!
Love his improvement! I’ve always loved his hustle/enthusaism, but gave it as a given that he would foul out. HUGE improvement, with a decent shot at the NBA whereas before I thought he’d have to go overseas… Hopefully he’ll get the chance somewhere in the States!
Congrats to the guys
Still, I wonder how UW, ASU, AZ, and Cal all got 2 first teamers, and we only got one. I think Josh deserved first team honors, PAA second team.
UCLA had a real team effort this year
Not great for the awards but we had the most balanced five this year, with some key subs in MR, ML, DG etc. Means that individual scoring and stats suffered.
So I am not surprised that other teams got a couple of guys on the first team of 10.
I just hope: 1) our guys know they are loved and their teamwork is appreciated and 2) we show everyone how good a balanced team can be in the post season!.
Congrats to DC, JH, JS and especially PAA (who would have guessed it at the beginning of the year…if the year went on I think he would move up in impact).
Go Bruins!
