Cameron Dollar to Take Over at Seattle U?
According to this story, Cameron Dollar is about to become the new head coach at Seattle University.
Dollar played four years for the Bruins in the 1990s. He is best remembered for coming off the bench to replace an injured Tyus Edney in the 1995 championship game when UCLA beat Arkansas for Banner 11. Most recently, Dollar has been an assistant at Washington, where he worked for former UCLA assistant coach Lorenzo Romar (who was on Jim Harrick's staff in '95.)
Trivia Question: Who is the greatest player to ever come out of Seattle University?
(I just realized that this was already up as a Fan Shot. I guess I just didn't see it, but there it is.)
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Good for Cameron!
He’s a great guy, and I’ll forever remember his spinning halfcourt shot against UW…that was just crazy.
Trivia answer: Elgin Baylor.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.

Oh, the generation gap!
I remember when he played at Seattle, and when Zeke from Cabin Creek (i.e., Jerry West) played for West Virginia. Here’s a trivia tidbit – who was the other guard (not Hot Rod Hundley) who played at the same time as West and who once scored 100 points in a game in college. (Hint – he never scored 100 points in a game as a pro.) (Another hint – he played for, I think, Furman, assuming there ever was or still is a Furman.)

Googling ....
Came up with Frank Selvy of Division III Furman who scored 100 against a Division II school in 1954.

Had you ever even heard of Frank Selvy?
But a good job nonetheless. It was indeed Frank Selvy.

No, I had not ...
If he was ever in the NBA, he was probably out of the league by the time I started watching (mid ’60s or so).

Had Selvy made just one more jumper
in a game 7, West, Baylor, and the Lakers would have cracked Boston’s invincibility before Wilt had arrived.

I confess I googled Selvy, too, after I was unsure about Furman
I read about Hundley passing up the shot to feed Selvy who, alas, missed it.
I confess that I was as sick of the Celtics back then as I am sick of the Red Saaaaax now. I have been boycotting Boston Cream Pie for years. And I wish their hockey team would change its name.

I hope he does well.
It’s just wishful thinking but what if he teamed up with some of the other Championship team members, like Edney or Ed O. I would imagine there would be a lot the kids could learn from them.

Meh
Cameron was cool in college and I will always be grateful for that incredible game. But I have to say some of his sideline acts during Washington-UCLA games in Seattle gave off the same vibes as Petey’s Poodle. Cameron is not as bad as Petey’s Poodle but gotta say he doesn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Anyway, good luck to him.

Dollar
What a defender that guy was. And he’s a successful coach in the making.
