The way the system is set up, they aren’t penalized for not playing a tough OOC schedule. The system is flawed and needs to be fixed. Put emphasis on beating good teams and challenging yourself, then teams will start scheduling tougher. UCLA schedules tough because we need to bring names to the Rose Bowl or there wouldn’t be many fans, but from a competitive standpoint we’d be better served by playing a weaker schedule.
