Invite to Bruin Dinner and Auction with WHO?
Ummm ok, so I got this invitation in my email tonight. I started to read and thought "cool! Tracty, Ed, Charles...and WHO?"

I put all the info here in case anyone is interested in attending, but WHY would they invite him? Anyone?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Honestly, It could have been worse.
When I read your subject heading, I thought, “please don’t tell me they’re bringing Henry Bibby.”
Steve Lavin is laughable, but it’s no insult.

It does say "Bruin Basketball Greats" though
Which, when describing Lavin, is at best misleading.

Well yes
it definitely could have been worse, but please! I mean, if this was earlier on I could maybe understand but over time he has been proven to be a true hater. He gives UCLA backhanded compliments constantly and straight insults sometimes. I guess I just think back to what he did to the program and what we know now from Baron Davis and others and in no way do I think he belongs there. ESPECIALLY if you use the term “Bruin Greats”

Steve Lavin is an "insult" to UCLA basketball
Anyone who doesn’t think that doesn’t understand how this con artist destroyed our program.

The organization inviting him ought to allow time for a rebuttal

I'm thinking of going
and bringing a list of questions for the lizard. Maybe “so, Baron told me he left early because he didn’t have a coach and I was also told you let the players drink on their plane flights. Comments?” LOL! Any other questions?

Hmmm
You might think to ask him about variations of the “MOVE!” offense. As I recall, there was the “MOVE!” play where a player would go from front to backcourt, as well as the “MOVE!” play where a player was directed to go from backcourt to front. Finally, you might ask him about the “MOVE!” set, where the players simply stood around the parameter passing the ball to each other. It was really clever because he’d yell “MOVE!” which would spur his players to do the exact opposite. I remember his teams doing this brilliantly during our home games against Mike Montgomery’s Stanford teams.
Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.

How did that happen? My typing skills are about the same as CHP's coaching skills.
I was about to say that there’s another thread that gives the name of the guy who apparently put the luncheon together. I have e-mailed him with my two cents worth, and I think he ought to get a zillion similar e-mails. I asked him to rescind the invitation. Maybe he will with enough pressure.

Invite Mrs Lavin
she’s worth seeing. Stevie can stay at home.
