Curious About Prince's Mobility
I thought the following practice comment from CRN was pretty interesting:
"He was great until he just choose poorly on two throws in a row,'' Neuheisel said. "But that's the beauty of spring football. Those don't cost you games. Hopefully, they do just the opposite, they keep you from doing that in a game.
"He'd done a nice job in bringing the team down the field in a two-minute context. On fourth-and-10 he scrambled for 15 and if you're the offense you're going to win the game, but he makes an ill-advised throw. Those are the kinds of things, hopefully he won't do it next time.''
CRN made the comment after watching th films from last Friday's scrimmage. What got my attention was the tidbit of Prince scrambling for 15 on 4th and 10. WestwoodWizard shared this photo with us in the morning thread today:

He sure looks pretty mobile to me. Then again don't want to reach any conclusions until I have seen play in an actual game.
So on that note wanted to ask folks like WW and others who have seen practices to date and get your thoughts on his mobility. What do you all think?

The President of the Kevin Prince Fan Club can speak to this
KP can move. He’s not going to be a great runner who is always a threat to tuck it down and get 50 yards like those few truly extraordinary QB’s, but he’ll pick up the yards that are there. He has quick feet in the pocket and when he gets out of the pocket, he can go. If he gets outside and sees nobody in front of him for 20 yards, he’ll get those 20 yards. He doesn’t run away from guys, but he doesn’t get run down either.

What's your take on his scrimmage performance so far?

He's shown flashes, but needs to show some consistency
His performance has been just about what I expected from him. While he is talented and smart, he’s still a redshirt freshman who’s working with the 1’s for the first time. Throw in the fact that his 1’s have been rotating in and out all spring and it’s not a situation conducive to greatness. I think he’s shown a good grasp of the offense for the most part and he clearly has the physical tools, but it’s the one mistake every 4 or 5 plays that’s getting in his way. He’s make 3 or 4 great plays, then make one where you’re left wondering"what are you thinking?" I think it’s just a matter of experience and I’m sure there will be a few instances like that during the season, but what has me encouraged, besides his physical tool, is that when he makes a mistake, it looks like he learns from it and is careful to avoid making it again.

I think you illustrate a great point, Rye
I think a successful quarterback makes a series of good plays with a couple of very good and maybe one or two great plays, but has no absolutely horrible plays that wipe out all the good. We have all seen players who so studiously avoid the absolutely horrible play that they are too timid to make the great plays. I think we have the secret to getting over that imperceptibly small bump from average to great in Coach Chow. His track record suggests that if a quarterback has greatness in him (as just about everyone says about Prince), Coach Chow can bring that greatness out.
