Women's Golf
The top-ranked Bruins finished third at the Pac 10 Championships behind USC and the conference champions, Arizona St. UCLA was +12 on the tournament, 12 strokes behind the Sun Devils. Six different Bruins were given All-Pac 10 honors, ranging from first team to honorable mention. As a reward for their strong season, the Bruins were awarded the #1 seed in the NCAA Central Region, which will be played May 7-9 in Columbus, Ohio.
Softball
After their ninth consecutive win, I think it's pretty safe to say the #2 Bruins are on fire. Daynuh already covered the Bruins' three wins this weekend. Now they will head to #3 Washington for a game on Wednesday before returning home for consecutive weekends at home to finish the year.
Women's Water Polo
At last weekend's Pac 10 Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii, #3 UCLA took third place. The Bruins beat #6 Hawaii, 8-7, in the tournament's first round, but lost their next game to #2 Stanford, 11-10, in overtime despite four goals from Tanya Gandy. UCLA took down #4 Cal, 8-7, in the third-place game thanks to two goal games from four different Bruins. The Bruins are the NCAA Tournament's #3 seed and will take on sixth seeded Michigan, who the Bruins already beat once this year, in College Park, Maryland on May 8.
Women's Track and Field
Rhonda Watkins led the #9 Bruins at the UCSD Triton Invitational with a win and regional qualifying mark in the high jump. The Bruins will compete against USC in the UCLA-SC dual meet at USC on Saturday.
Men's Tennis
Eugene Brazdil had a heck of a week at the Pac 10 Championships in Ojai by making a pair of finals. First, he and his double partner Michael Look, who had never played together before, went to the finals before losing in a tough three set match. Brazdil also went to the singles final before losing. The NCAA Tournament draw will be released on Tuesday on ESPNEWS.
Women's Tennis
The Bruins got a sweep of the Invitational draw at the Pac 10 Championships by taking both the singles and doubles draw. Freshman Carling Seguso took the singles crown by winning five matches without losing a set, while Maya Johansson and Anna-Viktoria Lind teamed up to win the doubles title. Like the men, the women's draw will be announced on Tuesday on ESPNEWS.
Men's Volleyball
A disappointing season came to an end last Friday when #9 UCLA lost to #1 UC Irvine in the first round of the MPSF Tournament. The four set match brought a close to the Bruins' 14-16 season
Men's Golf
#17 UCLA begins postseason play today in Seattle at the 50th Pac 10 Championships.
Men's Track and Field
The 16th ranked Bruins went to the UCSD Triton Invitational and dominated the pole vault with a 1-2 finish, led by last year's Pac 10 champion, Bobby Talley, who improved his regional mark. Next up for UCLA is this weekend's always entertaining UCLA-USC dual meet that is a must-see for anyone who hasn't been before.
Women's Rowing
The Bruins will be in Marina Del Rey this weekend to take on #10 USC on Saturday.
