Not sure if I will have time to watch tomorrow night's game but I hope Magic is happy at the end of it. I consider him an honorary Bruin. GO BRUINS.

Summer pickup games

I remember one summer (maybe 1990, since I was taking classes) Magic could often be found at Pauley playing pickup games with some of the Bruins players, and other NBAers who stopped by (I remember Pooh Richardson, Byron Scott, and a few others). He was always good for a hello and big smile to any of us who got up the nerve to say hi to him during a break in the games.

I was standing in front of Powell

When I first that awful horrible news back in 91. It could have been 92. The year is blurry … but I remember the moment. A buddy of mine ran up to me saying, “did you hear about Magic?” A sickening feeling I can’t quiet describe. So great to see him doing so well. I always like seeing him smile. I hope he gets to do that tomorrow night.

And you are right about him being so cool whenever he ran into students on campus. I always felt he was part of us.

It was '92

b/c I too remember exactly when one of my roommates called me, and I left work and drove home just speechless and heartbroken.

A week or so later, we road tripped to Stanford FB game. Our rented minivan was painted with UCLA slogans on one side, and the other side with “#32, The Magic Lives On!”

I would say his health and his business ventures in the inner cities have been absolutely amazing. But then again, they have turned out exactly how he said they would. Should never have doubted him for a second!

(and this doesn’t even touch on how all of Sproul Hall exploded when he dropped in “junior” to beat the Celtics!)

Yeah

that sounds right. lol @ “dropping in junior.”

Fingers crossed. I want the Celts … bad. I have to deal with BS from Celtics fan all year.
