Women's Water Polo
As has been noted all over BN, the Bruins brought home their fifth consecutive NCAA title on Sunday by beating USC in the National Title Game. On the way there, the Bruins beat Michigan, 13-6, and Stanford, 12-11, on a buzzer beating goal.

Women's Golf
For the second consecutive year, the #2 Bruins won the Central Regional and advanced to the NCAA Championships. Also for the second consecutive year, Maria Jose Uribe won the individual title, one stroke ahead of Stephanie Kono. The NCAA Championships begin next Tuesday in at Caves Valley Golf Course in Owings Mills, Maryland.
Softball
Coming into the weekend, #2 UCLA needed only two wins in their three games to capture the Pac-10 title, but they did one better by taking all three. The first win wasn't pretty as the Bruins scored one run on an illegal pitch and an another on a bases loaded walk in their 2-1 win over #12 Cal. The last two games of UCLA's regular season were against the team they were battling atop the Pac-10 conference, Stanford. The Bruins defeated Stanford 1-0 to capture their ninth Pac-10 title in a game with a few things you don't see every day. One of those is a broken bat as Megan Langenfeld jammed a Stanford batter and broke her metal bat. Another was a 32 pitch at-bat, which finally came to an end with Langenfeld recording a strike out. The Bruins finished off the regular season with an 8-0, six inning victory over the Cardinal to finish 16-5 in the Pac-10 and 41-9 overall, the program's 24th 40-win season.
The Bruins earned the #2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host the regionals at Easton Stadium. All-tournament passes are $29 for adults and $17 for students, while single-day passes are $11 for adults and $7 for students. Tickets go on sale Tuesday and can be purchased at the UCLA CTO, by calling (310) UCLA-WIN or on gameday at Easton Stadium. The Bruins play their first game against Long Beach St. at 3:30 pm PDT on Friday and if they win, they will play at 1 pm PDT on Saturday.
Men's Tennis
#7 UCLA cruised through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament with a pair of 4-0 wins at home. The first was an easy win over Southern Illinois and the next was a similarly easy win over Hawaii. Now, the Bruins advance to the Round of 16, just like they have in every year since the current format was adopted in 1977. This year's championships will be played this year in College Station, TX. The Bruins will play Miami on Thursday at 4 pm PDT.
Women's Track and Field
Megan Jamerson took the pole vault title at the Occidental Invitational and Yasmin Woodruff ran a NCAA qualifying time in the 200m. At the Pac-10 Heptathlon Championships, Ryann Krais finished fourth and qualified for the NCAA Championships as a result. The Bruins will be in Eugene, OR this weekend for the Pac-10 Championships.
Women's Tennis
#11 UCLA had an easy time of it in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but got caught in a second round dogfight. In the first round, the Bruins cruised to a 4-0 win over Boston University. In the second round, the Bruins were tied 3-3 with Arizona St. when freshman Nina Pantic won 10 straight games to complete her comeback and win the match for UCLA, 4-3. Now, just like the men, the women will compete in the Round of 16 against Miami in College Station, TX.
Men's Track and Field
Three different Bruins recorded NCAA qualifying marks at the Occidental Invitational, while freshman Trent Perez finished seventh at the Pac-10 Decathlon Championships with a lifetime best score. The Bruins will be in Eugene, OR this weekend for the Pac-10 Championships.
Men's Golf
UCLA will head to Kentucky for the NCAA Regionals this weekend.
Women's Rowing
The Bruins will compete in the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

With water polo I had totally forgotten about tennis
Thanks for the updates.
Here’s to 105 and 106 by the tennis teams. Hey, weirder things have happened.

It was Mother's Day so I wouldn't have been able to get to it until late, late Sunday night
at which point I decided to let the water polo girls stay up on the front page. This last series was one of the more frustrating ones in recent memory.

I'd like to add
How amazing it is to make a 2 goal lead stand for an entire half when you don’t score another goal the whole game.

How amazing it is to be able to make it through a water polo match. Every time I watch it, I’m amazed at what amazing athletes water polo players are. Men, women, whatever, I know I couldn’t do what they do.
