Neuheisel quote, live from New York
A Facebook friend who I don't believe to be a member of the BruinsNation community posted this tonight after attending the New York alumni tour with Rick Neuheisel:
Who knew Coach Neuheisel was so funny?! Best line: "First year, USC didn't want any of our recruits. This year, we got six of theirs. And we could've gotten five or six more if they could actually read or write."
I wasn't there, so it's not perfectly sourced, but I definitely found it funny and thought it worth passing on to everyone here. (I wasn't sure if this shouldn't be fanposted, instead, but couldn't figure out a way to do it without a link.)
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I have a friend who is there too
and told me the same thing. I couldn’t stop laughing. He is writing a post about what CRN talked about that should be up shortly.

I was at the Westlake (Los Angeles) one...
Rick and Ben Howland are both very entertaining speakers.
Rick Neuheisel decided to emphasize how Pete Carrol “ticked him off”
He said that in the Pac-10 if you are under 18 it is not allowed to roam the sidelines, but he wanted an exemption for the coach’s kids because of the awe-inspiring moments that they could share with their children (Coach has 3 ‘minors’ who live and die Bruin sports). At the winter meetings (Pac-10 coaches) by bringing this up he stirred up memories of Coach Harbaugh (Furd) and Coach Erickson (ASU) who followed their dads as sons on their sidelines. The buzz was rising and they put the proposal to vote. Results: 9-1…“Guess who didn’t raise their hand?” (to the laughter of the audience). Terrific speeches! Ben Howland answered a question about the memorable Gonzaga game and his mindset of always being able to come back, and thanked the fan for the question than ignited that fond memory. Again, wonderful!
