Non-Revenue Sports Bruin Review and Calendar
Women's Golf
The #2 Bruins will begin NCAA play and their pursuit of the program's third national title. UCLA is the top seeded team in the Central Regional, which is hosted by Ohio St. in Columbus, and with a top eight finish, they will qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Softball
#2 UCLA traveled to Seattle for a showdown with #4 Washington to begin last week and were defeated by the Huskies, 2-0. The Bruins were no-hit, but they bounced back with three home wins over the weekend. The first was a 8-0 win over Oregon behind Donna Kerr's one-hitter. The second win was a 4-3 win over Oregon St. and the third win was a 9-1 win over the Beavers as Kerr threw another one-hitter. The Bruins are now 38-9 overall and 13-5 in Pac-10 play, which has them tied atop the standings with Stanford. Those Cardinal will be in Westwood this weekend for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday to cap off the regular season.
Women's Water Polo
It's NCAA Tournament weekend in College Park this weekend and the #3 Bruins will take aim for their fifth consecutive national title. They will open the tournament versus #12 Michigan on Friday, then should they win, play #2 Stanford or #7 Marist on Saturday. The Championship game is on Sunday at 4 pm PDT and it will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV).
Men's Tennis
The seventh seeded Bruins will begin the NCAA Tournament this weekend at home when they host the first and second rounds. UCLA will open versus Southern Illinois on Friday and should they win, they will play either Hawaii or Oklahoma St. on Sunday for the right to play in the NCAA Championships in College Station, TX, beginning May 14.
Women's Track and Field
As rich noted, the #9 Bruins lost to USC in the dual meet this weekend, but they don't have time to sulk. The Bruins have the Pac-10 Heptathlon Championships this weekend, the California Relays and the Occidental Invitational in their last tune-ups before the Pac-10 Championships.
Women's Tennis
UCLA is seeded #11 in the NCAA Tournament and earned the right to host the first and second round of that tournament. The Bruins will play Boston University in the first round on Saturday, then either Arizona St. or UNLV in the next round on Sunday, should they advance.
Men's Track and Field
rich posted about how #16 UCLA lost to USC last weekend for just the third time 15 years. The Bruins have the Pac-10 Decathlon Championships this weekend, the California Relays and the Occidental Invitational in their last tune-ups before the Pac-10 Championships.
Men's Golf
The 17th-ranked Bruins got off to a rough start at the Pac-10 Championships and needed a strong final round of eight under just to finish sixth for the tournament. Two Bruin golfers were able to pick up All-Pac-10 honors though. Erik Flores was named to the All-Pac-10 first team for the third time, the first Bruin ever to be named to the first time three times. Gregor Main was named to the second team in addition to Freshman of the Year honors. The Bruins will begin NCAA play next week.
Women's Rowing
In the final home meet of the year, UCLA was easily dispatched by #10 USC. The Bruins will take a week off before the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.

Any Spring/Summer league games for UCLA Women's Soccer?
Rye – do you have any news on whether there are any games for the UCLA Womens Soccer team in the next few months? I coach a club soccer team in So Cal and would like to take my players to see how the Bruins play. Our trainer’s daughter plays for Cal and they have been playing almost every week but I’ve been unsuccessful locating any info on the boards/UCLA sites/etc. Thanks for all that you do.
