MVB and Baseball-Why UCI not UCLA
In today's LA Times, there was an article about the #1 UCI in both volleyball and baseball. Volleyball is coached by a former Bruin and baseball by the fired SC coach (after Savage left). NCAA volleyball is UCLA and we need to get back to the top, so maybe it's time to move on. As for baseball, it was said that UCI doesn't have a player projected at the top of the draft, while we have plenty. Now why is it with all of our stars, we may not even make the playoffs.
What is it fans? How can a second tier athletic school like UCI climb to the top in sports that we should excel? It's not academics, so what is it? Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

They've hired excellent coaches
and have invested more money into the programs for stadiums and training facilities.

Because the law school hired, fired and re-hired a great Dean ...
it will become a great school.

We had a lot of injuries to a very young vball squad
so be patient.
In regards to Baseball, we are trying to rebuild from the Pete Dalis “as long as you are .500 nice, and kiss my ass from time to time, you can have your job for 25 years” legacy
"when you've seen how big the world is, how can you make due with this?"

SURE MAKES (or should) YOU APPRECIATE THE '06 MVB CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM
That team had no “awarded” AVCA All Americans that year, and was a team that was completely rebuilt after the silver runner up team from ’05 graduated a boat load of seniors and rehabbed key players after injuries. Thankfully VB Magazine stepped up after the playoffs to make the right post-season awards to honor those guys. That squad was 12-12 and one loss away from missing the playoffs, when they went on a 14-0 table running rest-of-the-season to win it all.
As Guerrero said in a Fox interview after winning #100, don’t ever take the winning of a national championship for granted because they are not easy to accomplish.
