Slightly OT: Nick Montana Commits to Washington
My first thought was that I was a little surprised he didn't choose Notre Dame, but given their current state, I could see why he wouldn't. Any thoughts from the 49er fans and/or those who follow the LA prep scene?

Is this big news?
I don’t follow recruiting closely, was he a highly coveted QB? Or is he particularly noteworthy because of his father?

Probably more because of his old man
But I don’t follow recruiting at all. Also, it’s only a verbal commitment at this point. He can change his mind before February.

He plays for Oaks Christian (which is Jimmy Clausen's old school)
and starts, but I don’t think he is anything special. He got offers from a ton of schools, including us I believe, but I think that is because he is Joe Montana’s son. I don’t see him as being anything more than a solid backup

Good luck to Nick
It still would have been fun to see him at UCLA connecting with Rice Jr. But oh well.
