SuC recruit James Boyd already acting like a Trojie, going crazy in some all star game. Not sure what set him off.

Good grief
That was like watching a car accident in progress.
Then again, Timmeh (R.I.P.) used to act similarly during games.

It's unreal
There has to be a good reason for the kid to go off like that. Wow.

That's what I was thinking, too
Maybe he was called a name or someone sucker punched him or something. Just crazy.

Also
Part of me think it was kind of big act. Notice how once he took off his shoulder pad he didn’t do a full sprint. Instead he ran in a way that he knew he was going to get caught. Just odd.
It’s like a total Jerry Springer Show as mexi said below. Then again U$C* athletics is the Jerry Springer Show of the NCAA. So he fits in perfectly I guess.

Yeah - no breakaway speed on that one
He ran that pattern a little like Randy Moss on a running play. He knew he wasn’t going to get all the way to the other side of the field. So does that mean he’s smarter than we’re giving him credit for? Going over there without helmet was asking for trouble, so he runs slow enough to get stopped. OK, I’ll give him that one.

This really is like watching Jerry Springer
Which is worse? This is an All Star Game James! You know going into this game that:
a) The talent on the other side of the field is going to match you stride for stride. Expect competition to be fierce.
b) There will be much more media attention on this game than an average H.S. game. People are watching!
I find this behavior appalling. And, not because I am a Bruin and biased. But, as a former athlete, I have never found these kind of displays acceptable. Nor, did I find it improved performance. I find it appalling because it reflects so poorly on his parents and the job they’ve done raising you, James. I have no doubt, your parents are/were appalled by your behavior. But, the world will never know if from watching this video.

Reserving judgement
Yes, we’re used to seeing this sort of behavior from the trOJies, but I can’t (and we shouldn’t) say anything about Boyd specifically, not knowing what really happened. Maybe someone said or did something so horrible and inappropriate that any of us would have had the same reaction, or worse. Hard to know. And where were all his his teammates during this? But we should give credit to those around him trying to defuse the situation and pull him away. Very strange situation…

His teammates were probably not around because...
this was an All-Star game and there’s usually much less camaraderie than in a team that went through a season together. I’m not saying Boyd is one, but there’s especially no camaraderie extended to a prima donna.

Agree with you gbruin
I don’t really know what to really make of this but it just seems extremely bizarre.
