What an exellent interview
It’s unfortunate how the head coaches Norm Chow worked under couldn’t handle the credit he deserved. I hope we can keep Norm around UCLA for a long time, his persona and character is very much like a quality BRUIN, I don’t understand at all how he could ever work with Cheat Carroll, I hope Neu’s keeping Chow happy because UCLA’s offense in the next 2-3 years is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Norm Chow is a great guy, and a great coach.
When I heard way back when that USC had hired him, I hung my head because I knew what we were in for. He delivered.
When I heard he had left USC I jumped for joy.
When I heard we had hired him, my joy had no limits.
This article gets me so pumped up for Football season to start. I can’t wait.

What a contrast
with so many other coaches. In discussing adversity, he mans up, rather than protecting his backside.
Considering how successful you’ve been running offenses, how tough was it for you watching your players struggle to get much of anything going?
NC: It was hard. But it’s not about me. It’s about our players and their willingness to work, which they did. They played as hard as they could and they did everything we asked them to do. It just didn’t work out. It’s not their fault. We as coaches have to take the major part of the blame because we didn’t get it done. … Perhaps we should have gone a little slower. We just didn’t do what we should have done.
I also loved his response to the question about butting heads with CRN.
