My jaw dropped when I read this.
If he’d never gone to Europe, he says, "I wouldn’t know the pick-and-roll game. I wouldn’t know how to guard, wouldn’t know how to fight through screens. I’m stronger now."
Amazing. I find it difficult to comprehend.
A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment. John Wooden
you're right
It’s really eye-opening. Mix in the agents and hangers-on trying to align themselves with these young kids, and it sure looks like a toxic environment for a developing basketball player, doesn’t it?
drebruin’s comment on the fanshot says it all for us.

I agree with drebruin
While this article doesn’t really provide any new information, it does highlight the need for good defensive coaches at the college level. Too bad the article didn’t end with a comment from AA, RW, or KL about how learning defense under Howland prepared them for the NBA.
