Open letter to LIDS
I had the recent displeasure of visiting your store in the Antelope Valley Mall (Palmdale, CA). This store is located in Los Angeles County. As an alumni of UCLA. I was shocked to see that there were no UCLA hats--one of which I would have bought if it had been there. To my surprise UCLA hats are not offered for purchase.
UCLA has the greatest tradition in college basketball. No other school can lay claim to this or is even in the running. It is an undisputable fact. UCLA has 104 National Championships and leads the nation in overall total. Such pioneers as Jackie Robinson, Arthur Ashe, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar went to UCLA. UCLA represent the pinnacle, both in excellence and character, of college athletics.
In place of even one UCLA hat, you have a multitude of U$C* hats. This school has a decent football team but has not won a National Championship in football in a number of years. Even that title is tainted by scandal.
I have bought UCLA hats from this location before. I will no longer patronize your store and will pass the word along to other Bruins.
After this incident, I marched out of the store and told my wife, "I'm going to the embroidery kiosk to get a powder blue "FU$C" hat made. She initially said "okay." When I started asking the person at the kiosk if they could do it, my wife said "I was only messing around." I, doing my best Doc Holliday from the movie Tombstone said "I wasn't."
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Must just be that store
They have lots online. http://www.lids.com/did/67. Even still, any Lids location in California should have UCLA hats. Must be toejam management at the Antelope Valley store!
Palmdale
I’m from Palmdale/Lancaster (live far far away now) and I’ve got to say, UCLA apparel is just too good for that miserable place.
P.S. I bag on my hometown in the same way I might make fun of my sister. I’m actually somewhat fond of the place as long as I only have to visit a few times a year.
much props for the Doc Holiday quote.
“That’s just my game.”
I have noticed a certain amount of favoritism in retail stores when it comes to the merchandising of UCLA and SUC fanwear. I’ve always administered my own brand of leveling the playing field by reorganizing entire clothing racks, and when not enough time to do that, I’ll just cover their shirts with a quickly moved UCLA T-shirt.

Love that movie
and yeah, I do the merchandise move myself…

I don't even go inside LIDS anymore
I’m from the bay area, and every time I would go home I’d go to the mall, and of course they have CAL and Stanford hats. But right next to them were about 3 rows of $UC hats and mugs and it was jut too much RED for me to bear. And that’s coming from a big 49ers fan. Either way LIDS sucks. I’m glad you took the time to actually write them something. I’ll pass on the word.
