Don't Whine, Don't Complain, and Don't Make Excuses
I don't think I've ever watched the ESPY's. However, since I recorded it to get Samuel L Jackson's exposé of u$c's pay for play, I figured I'd scan the rest of the show. I pretty much skipped past much of the show, but happened to stop and watch the segment on the Jimmy V (Jim Valvano) Award For Perseverance. What follows is the inspirational and poignant story of the award recipient, NAIA basketball coach Don Meyer.
The second video of his acceptance remarks shows this man's remarkable spirit as he shares his thoughts, including the phrase for this story's headline, "Don't Whine, Don't Complain, and Don't Make Excuses," which he personally received from Coach (who got it from his father).
So, if any of you are caught up in this bad economy or other challenges, remember this man and the words of Coach.
If more people lived their lives like these men, the world would be so much the better.
