USC Self Reports 14 Secondary Violations
Gotcha. Did you really think?
We are talking about USC, not U$C*:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina reported 14 NCAA secondary violations the past six months, including five in the first-year program of men's basketball coach Darrin Horn.
The football program was cited for three violations while track and field accounted for two. The school released the violations Monday because of open records requests made by The Associated Press and other media outlets.
Four of the five basketball infractions were classified as Level II, a less severe category. The Level I violation took place Feb. 13 and involved a prospect and current player receiving impermissible entertainment during an official visit.
GO BRUINS.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Nice one, Nestor.
I thought the headline was too good to be true. The day U$C self-reports 14 secondary violations is the day pigs fly. I’m not counting on seeing either happen anytime soon.

Or even tertiary violations.

The capital letters and absence of an asterisk should have been the tip off.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if Mike Garrett tried to deflect some of the focus from Cheatie Petie by turning in his badmitton team or something like that.

They just don't get it...
Maybe it is because they are idiots?
Trojays seem to think that just because other athletes at other schools get into trouble, that u$c* is no different from any other “dirty” school.
Fact of the matter is, no one, and certainly no one here at BN, would suggest that any school is completely clean. Stuff happens. The difference is that most schools usually admit what they do wrong and punish those responsible.
That is the gripe. u$c* never admits anything. There is always somebody else to blame. This is why their fans are the worst HYPOCRITES there are and this is why u$c* isn’t like other schools. Will we ever see u$c* SELF-REPORT anything, especially concerning their football team?
Troy will fall.

I would counter
That other schools get caught doing stuff, but nobody exceeds the line of decorum like South Central does. It’s like comparing a kid stealing gum to Madoff. There is no comparison. Likewise, many kids use that experience to learn what it is to apologize and become better people. People like Madoff will never admit wrong doing. USC seriously thinks that getting lawyers and spin doctors to trumpet the Bart Simpson line “It wasn’t me, nobody saw me do it.” is the same thing as being innocent.
It’s not.

Eh. USC fans are jerks.
Most probably dont even know what they’re talking about when watching a football game or basketball game.

My first thought
At first I was happy but skeptical. Then the smart ass in me thought if it was $c, then they admitted to secondary violations from 50 years ago. Then I see that nothing has changed, and I should just hope that Petey implodes on his own because the NCAA won’t do anything.
It is incredible how far they have gotten by stonewalling.

Universities are stupid to self report violations
SUC never does, and it doesn’t cost them a thing.

Well, yes and no
Of course, when schools (just trying to encompass SC*) control the information, there is no reason to report it. However, schools are smart to self report violations once the school can no longer control the information, such as the OK car dealership fiasco.

I disagree, bornagain.
just$c* obviously can’t control the information on bu$hgate and payogate, but they haven’t done what Oklahoma did. They just deny everything. I think they figure they can’t self-report anything there, because it would be asking for some major penalties. (But they’re “fully cooperating” and “can’t comment on an on-going investigation.”) Just as there is a lack of institutional control over there, there is a constitutional inability to admit that anything was, is, or every will be, wrong in even the slightest way. Even the dippy cheerleader who cheered at the wrong time was explained away. Their name may well be Unable to Self Confess.
