Well we heard the rumors back in February. Now it's official. Bruins will celebrate Homecoming this season (November 7th vs. Washington) by putting on throwback jersey for the first time EVER.
CRN unveiled the jerseys today at the Media Day. Those were the same jerseys Gary Beban and his teammate had on when they beat Michigan State in the legendary Rose Bowl from 1966. Oh and Beban will serve as honorary captain of the Homecoming game against Washington. Make sure you have your cameras ready.
GO BRUINS.

Great
Just another thing to spend my money on. Those are too cool for me not to buy one.

Awesome!
It looks like they got the shape of the numbers right—not like the ugly skinny ones from the Toledo years.
I’d love to see these numbers (maybe with a navy outline for contrast) on our every game jerseys. And yes, I’d buy one too.
Great to see CRN embracing our heritage.
Those unis were problematic on black and white TV
It was hard to read the numbers. In color it was fine on TV. I could never see them when I attended games at the crapaseum anyway – the field was just too far away and my eyes were geezerly even then.
That was the objective
Red Sanders (maybe it was Prothro) wanted them as light as possible so you couldn’t differentiate between the two teams when opposing teams would watch tape.

I've heard of "laser" eye surgery,
but not “geezer” eye surgery. Are they the same procedures?
I’ll take a Bob Stiles jersey, or a Gary Beban. Or, a Tommy Prothro hat.
Incidentally, I ran across this auction of UCLA memorabilia. Not sure how the auction works, and probably out of my means anyway. But, very cool UCLA stuff.
I Remember Those Jerseys As A Little Kid
They do look pretty cool.
Los Angeles Rams and the UCLA Bruins!!!!!
