Seth Davis sits down with Coach Wooden
Seth Davis recently made the trek to the SFV to visit Coach for an SI.com piece. A good read, showing Coach being himself, if showing his age more than Davis recalls from his last meeting with him in 2006.

This was sobering stuff
Felt like Seth was saying goodbye…
Seems like now more than ever, college basketball needs upstanding characters. Pitino, Calipari, and Timmeh have disgraced the profession enough for one offseason. Hopefully coach sticks around long enough to see better days for the sport he defined for so many years.

John Wooden
Liberal Democrat. Who knew?

SIGH
Reading how Coach’s age is finally catching up to him conjures images of being a kid and seeing a coughing, feeble Yoda finish Luke’s Jedi training in Return of the Jedi. Both instances casts a heavy cloud over my heart. I’m even more enraged now at how long it’s taking to renovate Pauley. We are on a particular timetable to get it done that goes beyond budgetary concerns.
