Head coach Rick Neuheisel has a simple methodology when it comes to two-a-day practices: Work on the mind, not on the body.
His line of thinking is quite simple: Work in the summer to get the physical side down — run, jump, lift, squat, bleed, sweat, cry. Work in the fall to get everything else prepared.
"Kind of an analogy would be, this is just loading up the kitchen," Neuheisel said. "Bringing all the shop bags in, you get everybody involved and you put everything away and the cupboards are all stocked. Then you hope you just haven't bruised the fruit."
