CRN Using His Helicopter Mojo Again To Cover The Recruiting Scene
From Jill Painter in the Daily News:
Neuheisel will again use a helicopter provided by Larry Welk, an athletics donor, to do his recruiting trip today. Neuheisel was also scheduled to use the helicopter for Thursday night's game between Loyola and Newport Harbor in Orange County, so he could see his son Jerry, who's a quarterback for Loyola, play.
"It's functional for me," Neuheisel said.
Neuheisel of course did the same thing last year which had the entire Southern California recruiting scene buzzing.
No one can argue with the tactic (which was cleared by the compliance officials at UCLA) given the end results on signing day and looks like CRN is going all out yet again.

I don't want to be the voice of dissent
but $C’s compliance folks cleared their ‘head coach’ to pay his basketball players. Are we within NCAA guidelines? If so, then I’m cool with it.
Victory or until next year!
Well the big difference there is . . .
SC Compliance director was the same guy that told Nixon it was OK to bug offices and break into offices, etc.
A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment. John Wooden
uhm
Considering DG is one of the key officials in the national NCAA hierarchy, it’d be safe o say they looked into it. Moreover, this was national news last year. So you can bet NCAA was well aware of it and looked into it. And I am more than sure they were made aware of it.

Since CRN is the one using it, it is not be a problem
Now, if we were sending the chopper around to pick up the recruits and bring them to UCLA, that would probably be a violation. Though we could probably just pull an $C and claim that it was actually a town car.
Great entrance
But it doesn’t work to full effect unless you play Ride of the Valkyries as he’s coming in for a landing.
Now that would bring in the commits.

Did you read who provided the helicopter?
Must be the son or grandson of this man?
I have a feeling they will be blasting “Baby Elephant Walk” with a stream of bubbles.

Two words: Jet. Pack.
There are maybe only 2 or 3 working ones in all the world, the same basic type that was used in the 1967 Bond movie, “Thunderball.” It has been used at Super Bowls, New Year’s Eve galas, county fairs, all over the place.
Don’t be surprised if CRN pulls out one of those in the future.
