I think individual stars can make a defense

but the offense requires a team, and that takes a while.

Unspectacular win.

I’ll take it with the injuries and suspensions. Happy to have a bye before Stanford. We have a lot to work on.

I like what we have this season...

And I think we can still get better. It’s exciting.

Any Chance WWL Will Give Us Some Run This Next Week?

A good win, not a great win

Am I happy? “Good gracious, yes” Am I satisfied, ah, not yet. Too sloppy, way too many penalties. Very happy for Craft. The defense steps on the throat, but offense still doesn’t know how. Thank God for Forbath, however we need to score more touchdowns

by Raybru on Sep 19, 2009 10:33 PM PDT reply actions

This is all positive

We have a top 10 defense
We have a running game
We have more than one QB who has mojo
CRN laid down the law with regard to team discipline
We have a bye week to rest
USC lost
We are 3-0

It is all good.

Congrats, Bruins

Hope this doesn’t sound shallow just because I’ve had a little too much whiskey and Coke, but congrats on a game won. We don’t have a ton of talent this year, but Bill Snyder and (to some extent) Vic Koenning get everything they can out of their players. It was obvious they threw everything they had at UCLA today. Despite that, the best I could ever hope for was that we would make a few plays so we’d have a chance to win the game.

Good luck in the Pac-10 this year.

We'll carry the banner high!

Thanks TB

Snyder is a great coach and yes, he gave us everything he had. I respect him for that.

$uc Times

I’ll bet the banner in the sports section of the Times tomorrow will be “SC goes to the dogs” and our Bruins will be tucked in the lower right hand side. Any takers? It’s all good BRUINS WIN!!!!!!!, $uc loses!

by Raybru on Sep 19, 2009 10:38 PM PDT reply actions

Would we have beaten an average Pac-10 team tonight?

I just don’t see tonight’s game as a step in the right direction. Craft’s bad QB play in the 2nd and 3rd quarter turned what should have been a blowout into a Pyrrhic victory. The only positives were the W and no major injuries. That type of QB play will not win 3 games in the Pac-10.
