ESPN UPDATE On Fire/Game: Guerrero Says, "Right now, everything's on go."
""They've got an air monitoring device at the Rose Bowl that's watching everything," San Diego State athletic director Jeff Schemmel told the paper. "The concern is more the air than it is the fire.
"[UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero] said they had a little rain even this morning, so they're encouraged by the weather, and the fire's going the other direction.
"Right now, everything's on go."
The decision on whether to play the game will rest on Guerrero and currently there is no timetable for an announcement. "

Sorry
I meant to write something underneath the link. According to this report, Guerrero is making the decision! That makes me feel a little better. As long as the fire continues to go the other way and the air quality improves, I think we will be at the Rose Bowl on Saturday…
GO BRUINS!!!

FWIW (not much)
I just grabbed lunch in Pasadena and the air quality has vastly improved from what it was 24 hrs ago.

Here's hoping everything keeps improving...
… both for the people in harm’s way and for the air quality around the Rose Bowl.
As long as there’s no health or safety ahzards, then I hope the game goes on as scheduled.
And since it’s the first game of the season anyway, and our academic year hasn’t started, I’m all for giving free admission to firefighters and public safety workers and/or their families, in case the actual employees are still needed to fight the flames or help the victims.

What a great idea
Can someone send this along to marketing? It would be a nice gesture.

The air quality in Pasadena is never all that great
I lived in Pasadena and in Altadena. There were days we couldn’t see the mountains and we lived in the mountains.
Anyway, I’m sure Mr. Guerrero will do the right thing here. I’m 3,000 miles away, and can’t really give an opinion. I sure hope the game gets played, though. I would like to have our team have a game under its collective belt before going to enemy territory in Tennessee.

I am 3075 miles away and agree with Fox 71.
Safety first. UCLA will do the right thing and will not put players in harm’s way. Glad to see conditions are improving. Hoping for a game on Sat.

Bah
Our lungs are harden for any infiltrate, even smoke. Shoot all the smoke I inhaled in the 70s, unlike Bill, certainly helps to cope with smoke particles. Kidding aside, lungs can get very painful with so much smoke. Hopefully it will clear enough for sat.

Here in Glendale, it's still pretty bad...
My eyes have been red for the past 3 days. But hope for things to improve for section 21. First few days weren’t bad, last few; not so good.
