Today, I decided to let RTT (Rocky Top Talk) know that the Bruins weren't going to be a pushover. And so far, I have gotten nothing but talk of blowouts and annihilation. For one, I don't think Tennessee hasn't gotten so good that they are going to win 9-10 games this year, which seems to be the misleading moniker over there.
What is the biggest, most important thing that UCLA can do this week? Give Tennessee a dose of reality.
Currently, they are just absolutely convinced that their offensive woes are all gone. No doubt, from what I'm seeing.
Currently, they think UCLA is just another team that they can use to run up on to get to the Florida game with a little more confidence before getting destroyed.
Currently, they think UCLA has no chance against their defense. They think Crompton is Manning because he can "carefully dissect" (actually a comment from their site) the defense (THEY PLAYED WESTERN KENTUCKY, and not in basketball). They think their "4-Headed-Monster" in the backfield is the best in the nation...
Not only are they mostly just quick assumptions, similar to ours last year going into the BYU game, they can be traced back to last year.
For the most part, this sickens me. I hope that they get a dose of reality, even if it isn't a loss.
I hope they get to watch their lives flash before their lives, and then have to go and play the "Pasadena Bound" (Self-Proclaimed, look at their blog) Gators to get worked all the way back to Oakland.
What was originally going to be a fun trip to Knoxville has transformed into a trip where I just want to beat 'em, not have fun and get a good BBQ. I still want the good BBQ at Calhouns, but I don't want to "just" have fun, I want a W, and a messy one too, with sacks, and aggression.
RTT doesn't even care anymore, they are convinced we are an "inferior team", and just expect them to run up the score on that "inferior team".
I'm pumped, I'm mad, I hope some players read this, because man, it sure has me wanting to roll some heads.
