Bruins Flying Into Tennessee ... Early
This is good planning methinks:
UCLA plays Tennessee (also on EDT) on Saturday, but will fly out on Thursday afternoon.
Coach Rick Neuheisel said, "We thought we'd get back there and acclimatize ourselves." Asked whether Cal's experience influenced that decision, Neuheisel said, "not really," noting that the Bears played at noon Eastern time, whereas the Bruins play at 4 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to getting used to the new time zone, weird East Coast weather (hey I can say it since I live out here), the extra day will allow the youngsters (who haven't been on the road before) to get used to the travel routine:
Neuheisel said the early departure time was essential given the number of freshmen and redshirt freshmen on the roster. The Bruins played eight true freshmen and nine redshirt freshmen Saturday in a 33-14 victory over San Diego State.
"It’s all new to them," Neuheisel said. "How to travel, how to stay in your routine, how to stay in a hotel two nights, there has to be a lot of structure in what we do to keep guys focused between the time we get there and the time we play."
UCLA benefits from its quarter system this week. Neuheisel said they would be unable to fly on Thursday if classes had already started.
I am getting so fired up for this game I wish they could play this tomorrow night on WWL. But still have to wait almost 3 full days.
GO BRUINS.

Good tactics, imo.
But will it be enough? Find out next time on
.. … I got no name for the show. “FoOTBAW SATURAHDAH!” maybe? Go Orgeron on the title?
I got punk'd by UT's Athletic Department.
While the quarter system
and the late start to the school year it brings sucks for getting students at games early in the year, it’s great for this because the players can go as early as they want and not miss any class.
if you think about it...
Once students finally move back into school, the first two home games are Oregon and Cal on back to back weekends. I’m expecting a big turnout for those games, since all the freshmen will be very excited for football. Also, midterms havent exactly started yet (remember the U$C* game last year was the weekend before finals??…such bad timing)
Hopefully we can fill the student section
for those two games.

Students who don't live in the dorms
Should be there for 9/19 game. Don’t want to hear any excuses from them. :-)
Kansas State
Is in the middle of move-in. Hopefully a lot of people can make it to the game.

dorm move in is the KSU weekend
so hopefully the underclassmen realize they need to put stuff in their dorms and rush to the Rose Bowl.
Yep
Should be a shuttle there all ready for transport as well. All they have to do is remember to bring a sweater cuz this game will be played after dark. UCLA sweater of course.
Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.
+1
I’m uber interested to see how our team performs. Would love it to stick it to that idiot Lame and that fat ass douchebag Ogre.
