Trojies Hold A Candle Light Vigil (Not A Joke) For Cheatey Petey To Stay
Uhm, I wish I was making this up:
Apparently they expected to have more than thousand people - alums, students - show up. Their band members and ESPNU also showed up apparently hoping to capture a display. Instead check out the comment in the tweet:
Is that ALL? ("about 50 people") Hope it doesn't backfire.
Hilarious? Pathetic? A little creepy?
All of the above? You make the call.
GO BRUINS.

LMAO.
Just goes to show they are not all delusional kool aid drinkers over there. Most people Trojans are probably very realistic about this and too depressed about all the recent news to believe a symbolic gesture is going to make one iota of a difference.

You expect me to believe that?
We know that you’re glad that they’re presenting such an easy target for mockery. I know I am!
Not that we should be surprised by the turnout either. I do recall the TV announcers constantly remarking how empty the Mausoleum was when they played UA. The bandwagon is running lighter than it has in a long time.
Like fleas jumping off the corpse while it's still warm.
They knew even during the season things were not the same. And one thing that is consistently true of Trojans. They love to talk chit when they are on top, but cannot be found when they are struggling.
Yet another reason our loss in the Mausoleum is so disapointing.

Even 50 is probably a stretch
I only count about 15 in that photo
"I don't forget very much" Rick Neuheisel, 11/28/09
They counted band members to get to 50.

FOX News will likely think it was a tea party
and will report 200,000 in attendance
Band music
The band showed up—what did they play—taps?

They don't know that one
But it only has 3 notes, so it’s possible they could learn it.
greg in denver - UCLA guy for life
They played some
horrifically out of tune song. They even managed to crack the last note.

Charitable donations
were collected with all proceeds going to the u$c* football program slush fund to help players in need of land rovers and nice houses.

Just heard the NFL pregame show
Talking about Harbaugh as a possible replacement for Cheatey Petey. I hope whatever remains of the trOJan fanbase watches out for whiplash as they do a quick 180 on their opinion of the man if that happens.
Hoping to see a thread on who will fit in best as the next sc coach
Right now it seems that the best candidates should be:
1. Mike Leach
2. Bernard Madoff
3. Dick Cheney
Harry Reid Too
He can deal with healthcare in the Senate. For sure the mess in South Central would be cakewalk for him. Besides, he can tell who speaks with negro dialect and who doesn’t. Those would be the ones he recruits to become truly scholar-athletes to enhance the image of Heritage Hall.
This photo
calls for another caption contest.
TrOJies don’t know how to get things done by amassing, picketing, protesting. They should have organized a bribe-in, a graft draft, a payola gala.
It is so pathetic..
that even Conquest Comicals has not posted the vigil.
It gets to the heart of the U$C problem. The whole institution was willing to turn a blind eye to Carroll’s lying and cheating just to win.
I guess that’s part of being in the “Trojan Family.”
I'm not surprised at all they're gathering with candlelight
Football is their identity and he is Trojan football. If he leaves, they’ll be lost. They’re desperate. It’s pathetic and hilarious.
But seriously, he might not leave because he’s not getting control like he wanted. And if he does leave without getting that clause, then something must be coming down the pipeline from the NCAA.
So pathetic it's beyond words
When you go to a second-rate school, you can’t get excited about your degree.
They don’t care about basketball no matter how well the team does. Sometimes the LAT doesn’t even publish the attendance at games (usually around 3,000 but that is probably “tickets sold”).
All they have left is their corrupt football program built on the backs of a bunch of professional athletes. Who can blame them for crying over that going to pieces?
Pretty sad. They should be embarrassed.
My favorite part about the ignorant USC Trojans, is their mascot is a completely inaccurate representation of a Trojan Warrior/Soldier. Their mascot is essence, a Roman Soldier.
Their mascot carries a Roman Sword, dons Roman Armor and wears a Roman Galea . The style depicted by the mascot represents armor and a soldier that came from a nation several hundred years younger than the mythical Troy and it’s warriors.
This has been your useless facts of the day.
Its their belief in mythology
that keeps them believing that Carroll won 2 national championships
Not only that,
I think their official mascot is a horse….

A Trojan Horse Is Not A REAL Horse, Though...
( Real horses are quite lovely and majestic.)
…No, a truly Trojan horse is a fake horse, falsely offered as a quirky gift, and filled with trickery and deceit.
Hmmmmm….

Not to mention that when the movie "300" came out.
They all adopted Sparta as their spiritual forefathers.
The best thing you can do for your children is to love their mother. John Wooden
and they embrace the Coliseum
as if it’s a symbolic place in the history of their mascot, when in reality the Coliseum was built by the Roman Empire, not Troy. Then John Papadakis romances the Trojan colors before our game last month with the cardinal being the color of man’s blood-signaling brotherhood- and Gold being man’s most treasured commodity. They’re so arrogant and full of sh*t. I want to see the fall of Troy, AGAIN.
Ancient Roman myths
said that soldiers, for the sake of heightening morale and fighting spirits, sodomized each other at the eve of great battles. Maybe that’s how the comtemporary Trojans won their titles.
Yeah but didn't you hear
Aeneas founded Rome after escaping the ashes of Troy. Virgil told me so while simultaneously kissing the Emperor’s ass.
Troy HAS fallen...again, again, and again.

hahahahahahahahahaahhahah, so pathetic
cry on OJies
"If you don't take out his battery, he's going to keep going all day."
LOL,
It would be great if anyone who’s good at photoshop modifies a picture of the trojan horse w/ cheaties face on it.
An obvious question, but I still got a good laugh out of it.

Just wow.
I can’t believe they did this. Freaky! Strange! The guy did’t die, the program isn’t dead yet, wtf! Well maybe dead soon when the NCAA actually does something.
Stranger than we will ever know
I just left church and spoke to a trojan accounting graduate—absolutely solid guy. Smart, honest guy whose employer relies on him to lead within his company and accurately set forth the bottom line. His question, “Do you think Pete Carroll will really leave?” I gave the stock Bruins Nation answer: Sample is leaving; Garrett is at retirement age; most coaches never stay 10 years; and the NCAA is ready to pounce. He quietly demurred and gave me a long, long explanation about how the most corrupt college football coach in America is a what, a humanitarian. Its more toxic than Kool-Aid—maybe somebody with a Ph.d dissertation which melds abnormal psych and why propaganda really works can explain it. To show you he is not a complete loon, he thought the candlelight vigil was pretty laughable but then he is not sure its necessary.

How many people are violently assaulted at or near that campus every year?
How many people are sexually assaulted at or near that campus every year?
How many people are hit-and-run victims at or near that campus every year?
I’m glad that only 50 people showed up for that pathetic excuse for a vigil.
Candlelight vigils are for serious, solemn events to commemorate horrible injustice or unite in the face of deep tragedy.
If Petey were on his DEATHBED, then maybe I’d understand this…
$C just doesn’t get it. Maybe they never will.

Even scumbags ran the red light there
Remember how that Hispanics couple ran the red light, sped away with one of the victims lying dead on its hood ! Boy oh boy, why would people still want to attend South Central !?!
This idea might well have worked.
If each of the 15 guys who showed up had each called home and asked Daddy to send a check to Cheatie Petie for $1,000,000, that might have been enough to have Cheatie call the move off. Instead, they sang Kumbaya, held hands, and wished Matt Barkley would drop by. These guys must have been freshmen. A senior at just$c would already have sent the check to Cheatie without having to check with Daddy.
(You know, that kid is a darned good quarterback – I felt I had to throw that in.)
Caption:
“USC holds candlelight vigil after death of football program.”
Pete Carroll only cares about Pete Carroll. He was just using his boy Matt. It was good while it lasted, eh Pete?
Candlelight vigil
A vigil for the death of their professional sports institution. Pretty soon when/if the NCAA sanctions come raining down, they’ll be forced to actually abide by amateur rules.
Where is Bluto?
This reminds me of Delta House after the got busted by Dean Wormer when they were on double-secret probation.
