Trojans Breathing Fire (At Each Other) & Lashing Out At Cheatey Petey
Lot of interesting posts from WeAreSC.com (an "ESPN affiliate" BTW) in last 24 hours. Have to say lot of it was interesting. The general picture is not pretty. It doesn't sound like the departure is taking place in an amicable background. It's something Simers set the backdrop for few days ago (emphasis added throughout):
[K]eeping in mind we're dealing with someone very strange here in Garrett, I wonder if he views Carroll's departure now as a blessing. It would give him someone to blame who is no longer at the university, while also allowing him to be a hero, rise above it all and hire USC's next great coach -- a fresh start for everyone.
No more Tim Floyd, no more Carroll, no more problems.
It would take someone pretty arrogant and aloof, dismissive of his own sins and blunders, while also feeling bulletproof when it comes to his own standing at the university to think such a way.
But just because the guy doesn't talk to me doesn't mean I don't know him.
When he does talk, it's almost too much. It's almost as if he was setting the stage for a split, rift or increased friction with Carroll when he did a radio interview last month.
There is lot more "color" to the situation between Cheatey and the Trojan administration in the SC messageboards. There are talks about "activities" involving Pete Carroll's "kid":
I guess Pete Carroll's kid hiring strippers out recruiting is all part of our grand plan for securing recruits eh? Yeah Pete was waiting for that perfect NFL oppty that gave him ZERO control but hey...let's not believe what CPC said for many years was his criteria for NFL employment.
BTW That is the smallest detail in what will be all kinds of great details emerging from this program.
Have no idea about that first point but the second one about "perfect NFL oppty," it's something we have been already discussing here. There are also talks about a "reckoning":
As a graduate I am more concerned about USC the Institution, apparently that has not been the case for sometime.
The FB team will rise again but not until there is a reckoning. As far as MG, he ain't making the call for the next coach nor did he on PC.
Interesting to the say the least. The whole thread marked with vicious internecine Trojan firefight is surreal. There is also this kind of anti-Petey Trojan rhetoric already exploding out in the open:
Then the straw that broke the camel's back for me was how he handled the CJ Gable situation (preferring McKnight), but that was only a warm up to his grand finale, the way he threw two 5 star QB's to the curb to have a true freshman start at QB. The way he handled the QB situation was the last straw for me. They left Corp to hang during the Washington game, when Bates wasn't interacting with Corp as much as he did with Barkley. Come on.....that is scandalous. I was beginning to question PC more and more in the last 3 years, and the Barkley crush basically pushed me over the edge. I couldn't fathom how or why you would start a freshman over two QB with program experience. Corp threw one interception the whole spring to Barkley's dozen or more interceptions, Corp WON the starting position. I'm not saying we would have won a championship with Corp, maybe he would have been as bad as Barkley, but the point is, Corp won the job. I can't imagine Corp or Mustain doing any worse than Barkley did. When Corp hurt his leg, PC made a series of baffling decisions and statements, that threw Corp under the bus, and kept praising Barkley at all costs. The receivers, linemen, running backs, grounds keepers, and vending workers were all at fault, but never Barkley. Compete, compete, sure.....sure. Even Marc Tyler now states what I knew was obvious all along, PC plays favorites, at the risk of demoralizing some players, having animosity amongst the players, and having a block of the team thinking he is a joke and a hypocrite for the way he deals with individual players. Even a moron would know you do not play favorites ever and you treat all players equally from the star recruit to the walk on.
Anyways, I didn't want to write a book. Let's just say I feel good PC is gone. USC is an ultra fine, private university, with the best damn alumni west of the Mississippi. We deserve better than this rah rah moron. He rose the program up, but he wasn't the guy that was going to keep it there. I think the program can find a great head coach and hire good EXPERIENCED coaches, maybe Ed O can come back, and the program will be back to prominence in no time.
Now we know where were those other alums and fans missing at that candle light vigil. YIKES. I have a feeling this is going to get uglier.
We all know how Petey is. He is a classless, vindictive, petty SOB. He is not going to go quietly if he feels"disrespected." Given how it turned out between him and Garrett, I have a feeling he might do just a little more than take the entire coaching staff with him (who is left to recruit over at U$C*? The (alleged) Dog Fighter). I think we are going to see more back and forth in the near future because the both side will be coming in heavy.
This just goes back to karma. Doesn't it. Just few weeks ago those guys were strutting around foolishly after throwing that "bomb" and talking about "disrespect." Who knew it was going to be blow up on their faces so fast. Something we need to keep in mind as we move on (although at the same time there is nothing wrong with noting the craziness unfolding right infront of our eyes).
GO BRUINS.

I love this
Even Marc Tyler now states what I knew was obvious all along,
Tyler is a disgrace to his family name.
If I recall correctly, Marc Tyler was not recruited by UCLA.

I'm 99% sure this is just anti-fishwrap propaganda
Obviously pla$Chke didn’t write that story. That’s clear from the very first paragraph, which has two sentences in it. pla$Chke hasn’t had a multi-sentence paragraph since he got his carriage return fixed on his portable Underwood in 1973.
The only teensy bit of doubt comes from the following: “But just because the guy doesn’t talk to me doesn’t mean I don’t know him.” That, of course, is vintage ‘wrap. I think I’ll write an in-depth story about McSUV’s baby’s mama’s boss. I don’t know him. either, so it might make the front page of the ’wrap.
LOL
That is funny.
Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.

Timing
The timing of all this is extra funny for me. Literally the day before SC announced the self-imposed basketball sanctions, some jackass SC buddy of mine was in my face talking about how even his basketball team is better than mine, and now SC sports teams are superior in every measurable way.
Yup. Karma’s a bitch.
Now for the reverse Karma: Petey will be back.
I can’t imagine a scenario where Carroll is successful in the NFL. When he falls flat on his face (not if, but when), SC will be falling all over themselves to bring Pete back to fix the horrible mess that the next coach (no matter who they hire) gets their program into.
Now, the second go around for Cheat may be less successful for him (think John Robinson), but make no mistake. Cheat Carroll will be back coaching the trojans within 5 to 7 years.
Depends if USC retains Garrett.
With PC gone, Garrett is going to do whatever he can to save his own job. He’ll throw PC under the bus. After that, regardless of who’s AD in 5-7 years, it would be a real challenge for Carroll to come back to the NCAA. Also, there will probably be some other ethically challenged big-name program that would certainly welcome him at that time.
Go Bruins!
This is awesome
This is the best thing that could happen to those fools at Fig Tech. Watching them consume themselves with anger brings joy to my heart.
I don’t remember a time when Bruin fans ever acted like this when we got rid of our former coaches.
Victory or until next year!
Well, a couple of points, there nc
First, we never had a coach quit because of rule violations. When that issue came up, we fired him. (That was Coach Harrick and to an extent Coach Toledo.)
Second, when we had a successful coach leave, it wasn’t announced by a text message. It was Coach Wooden who told his team first.
Third, and most important, is the fact that no Bruin ever acts like a trOJan. Ever. A Bruin’s worst day, his worst nightmare, his worst gaffe ever is not like a trOJan’s best day. Bruins celebrate honor and integrity. A trOJan might, if he had ever heard either word, but still that’s doubtful.
of course
That’s why it is so easy to parady them, because they are so full of themselves they don’t know how stupid they actually look a lot of the time.

Fun To Watch Scummy Troy Burn!
The ship is in flames. The inept NCAA may eventually get it right and lob a few more molotov cocktails. If you are a trojie football player with remaining eligibility, athletic talent and as a minimum, half a brain, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? If jumping ship made sense to your beloved coach, perhaps it makes to do what he did and bail out as well before the Trojan horse and your Trojan ship (ass) SINKS!
'CaptainJack65'
Jack Metcalf
Where were these guys
the last 7 years?!! Sure, it’s easy to come out now and blast the lame ass cheater, but come on, that is ridiculous.
I love that they keep bashing PC but they want to bring back his lackeys. Ed Orgeron! Yes! I would love it if they hired him. He went to Mississippi, where they might actually understand his accent, and still couldn’t get it done. He can recruit, but will he be able to without cheating?
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
