OT: In other news, Trojan-For-Life Mark McGwire Weeps While Admitting to Being a Liar and a Cheater

In other USC news, one-time USC baseball player Mark McGwire admitted in an interview with Bob Costas that he used steroids while playing major league baseball.

Ironically, McGwire claimed that steroids -- aka "performance enhancing drugs -- didn't enhance his performance.

McGwire said in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday that he used steroids on and off for nearly a decade. Later Monday, however, he disputed that the drugs gave him more power to hit homers.

"I was given a gift to hit home runs," he told Bob Costas on MLB Network.

He told Costas that studying pitchers and making his swing shorter led to his increase in home runs and that he could have hit them without PEDs.

"I truly believe so," McGwire said. "I believe I was given this gift. The only reason I took steroids was for health purposes."

McGwire's former teammate Jose Canseco, whose accusations regarding steroids the past few years have

proved to be remarkably accurate said:

"I've got no problems with a few of the things he's saying, but again, it's ironic and strange that Mark McGwire denies that I injected him with steroids. He's calling me a liar again," Canseco said Tuesday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "I've defended Mark, I've said a lot of good things about him, but I can't believe he just called me a liar.

"There is something very strange going on here, and I'm wondering what it is. I even polygraphed that subject matter, that I injected him, and passed it completely. So I want to challenge him on national TV to a polygraph examination. I want to see him call me a liar under a polygraph examination."

The feeling here is that McGwire is full of crap.
