Lame Kitten Claws his way out of Tennessee
Local TV station sports news coverage:
Watch for the nice blog post quote from a disgruntled UT fan in this video from KTLA 5:
More after the jump.
Jim Hill at CBS 2 has an interview with Matty, who seems to have gotten over losing Cheatie.
KNBC 4's Fred Roggin actually spends time talking about the NCAA cloud over both UT and USC.
Rob Fukuzaki on abc7 talks a little about Kitten's thin resume.
As you'll note, sadly, there are mentions of the possiblity of CNC defecting. Despite some ambiguous reports late last night to say ESPN's report of CNC accepting "a position at another university is not accurate," I fear that when I wake up this morning that statement will change. No matter. If CNC leaves, so be it. We know CRN bleeds blue and gold and will work tirelessly to continue the progress of the last two seasons.
Go Bruins!

Coach Chow
In my opinion if Chow is wavering or undecided we need ot let him go. We need someone who we know is on board and will remain fairly loyal to us. If Chow does leave, could we afford Mike Leach????

loyalty
Your loyalty is where your heart is. I think the same goes for both Rick and Norm. CRNs heart is at UCLA, and Chow’s heart was broken at BYU. So what does that mean?
Look at CRN. He used Colorado as his stepping stone to head coaching, and then 4 years later, while still under contract, stepped up to Washington. It was pure business. Luckily for us, Rick is a UCLA guy, which means his heart and his loyalty are here – which is why I think he’ll stay here as long as UCLA will have him.
In my mind, Chow’s really a BYU guy, and if they hadn’t screwed him over he would have likely been their head coach for life. However, things didn’t work out for him there, so he went looking for a head coaching job or the highest paying OC job he could find. Bottom line: other than BYU, he’s just a gun for hire (not a UCLA or a SUC guy) and we shouldn’t take it personally, IMO.

Leach
I posted a similar thought last night and raised it on the podcast.
There are bigger and better things out there for Leach AFTER he sues the crap out of Tech and wins.
At UCLA he ill find a head coach who has walked in those exact same shoes. It would be a good holding place for him.
All that said, I think Chow stays. It’s a character issue and I think Chow has character — see several of my recent posts.

Leach
would stay max one year for us, not enough time to make the most of his offensive schemes but long enough to mess with our recruiting. And I severely doubt he would want to go back to being an OC after being HC for so long at TT. More likely he would take a HC job at a lowly school than an OC job at a BCS school, IMHO.

Just to avoid controversy
I’d advocate hiring someone other than Leach. Let’s let the SCandalous trOJans be the controversy hunters
We are never going to hire Leach as OC
Let’s stop the unrealistic pipe dream, delusional – “Love will be back for his 2nd year” – chatter on this now. Thanks.
Not to mention that
talking about CNC’s replacements while he’s officially still here is stupdendously disrespectful.
But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
I want to register an objection.
I have no objection at all to using the real first name of the new head sleaze bag at just$c*. Lame is fine.
But I have a cat, and she’s been sulking ever since some used a perfectly fine feline name as a parody of Lame’s last name. So no more “kitten.” That hurts cats everywhere.
Thank you.
