If your a Bruin football fan, the monopoly in Los Angeles is officially over. While the Bruins have a proven coach in Rick Neuheisel and still have to offensive mastermind in Norm Chow, the Trojans have an unproven loud mouth in Lane Kiffin.
First of all, why would you bring a walking violation in Kiffin into a program that has its own problems with the Bush and Mcknight investigations. This is just a reaction hire by Mike Garret, in attempt to save the recruits. But honestly, if you were a recruit, who would you rather commit to, an interim coach, or a liar who will just leave when the Cowboys come calling in a couple of years.
Now, I will admit Coach Ogeron and Monte Kiffin are proven to have success in recruiting an running a defense, but who is going to run the show at USC, Lane Kiffin. What has Kiffin done? He's failed with the Raiders (who hasn't?), and one mediocre 7-6 season with the Volunteers. Kiffin will just destroy USC with NCAA violations and then leave for the NFL in a couple of years.
The Trojan dynasty is officially over, and it will be evident that Pete Carroll will be the only reason for their past success, not just because they are USC. The arrogance at Heritage Hall has finally caught up with the Trojans, and now Rick Neuheiesel will take over the Los Angeles college football landscape.
