2006 team was amazing - no doubt
But for me and I can say many of my friends who went to UCLA during the first half of 90s, that 1995 team was special for number of reasons. We all grew up with Ed O, Tyus and Zidek. We were part of the same senior class going through four incredible years of heartbreaks and triumph. To have it all end like that in Seattle, nothing has ever come close as my favorite UCLA sports moment. It was pure bliss.
Was just thinking about those guys when I thought about total lack of leadership in today’s basketball team.
I wish I could remember it :)
In Boise at least, All I can picture is me playing with the Missouri Tiger, and not caring about the game at all… funny, my dad was packing up his stuff with about 4.8 seconds remaining

Thank you
Saw CD in San Antonio with his extended family and he was so happy to be remembered, by Bruins. If you ever bump into him, well he likes being part of the bruin family. Thanks for posting this, these were neat people as well as wonderful players. Ed O was also in San A. meeting and greeting everyone. A really lovely man.
Wow
Thanks for the tears, N! That gets me EVERY time. Man, I miss that! That team was AMAZING! Here’s to getting back there again and making the 4 letters proud! GO BRUINS!!!

The day I knew I was a Bruin
Thanks Nestor for posting that. I remember being a kid just starting to get into basketball and being captivated by the local team with a point guard making one of the most memorable plays in college basketball history going on to win a national championship. I had no idea that UCLA was Wooden’s UCLA at the time, but I had the Toby Bailey dunk forever burned in my mind.
I cant believe its been 15 years since then. You hate to play “what if”, but what if the NCAA actually did its job and CBH’s greatest team didn’t have to play Rose’s Memphis team. Man I would have loved to watch one shining moment with DC, LRMAM, RW, KL, JS and LMR celebrating. We probably wouldn’t be in the shambles we are presently in either. Alas……………….
Bravo
No matter, what you think of Ed O as a bust in the NBA. You can not argue that he had one of the best performances ever in a championship game. Going from blowing out a knee to winning it all in your senior year. It doesn’t get better.
The current team just needs to look at Ed O to see what leadership means.
Man, those were the days.
Cameron Dollar...
He is the HC for the Seattle University (first year), saw him in Denver about three weeks ago in Denver vs. DU. Got beat by a miracle three… then SU they went to Corvallis a week later and beat OSU by 51. They are expecting really big things of him and his staff there, great position for him.
Thank You Jim Harrick
Jim Harrick deserves a brighter spot in UCLA lore.
In my book he was a great coach who put together a great team.
I’ve written before that the “charges” against him, when understood in context, were BS. He got a raw deal.
And, we got the lizard and the total destruction of our program.
Shame on DGS, our current AD’s successor who, according to the Fox principle, cannot have his name in the same sentence with the words Director of Athletics.
