Try not to think about UCLA basketball for a while. I am about to put up a football open thread because I want to see how Texas Tech performs. Before I do that here is a simple. If you were to play a tune in your car or ipod to desperately take your mind off hoops, what would you play. I am going with Wilco. At least for now. Not helping yet. I am still here reading your thoughts. Anyway, let's here it. What's the choice for music before I put up a football open thread.

Alter Bridge - One Day Remains
Incredible music, amazing lyrics. Live and studio versions.
A sample:
“As your will is bent and broken and every vision has been cast into the wind,
As your courage crashes down before your eyes, don’t lay down and die.
Cause I see in you more than you’ll ever know
And I ask you why you question the strength inside
And you need to know how it feels to be alive.”
It works well right now.

True, I think...
My wife has me helping remodel a place. I hope to put on my skis sometime before March.

Trouble is
Any profound thought is bound to invoke a similar thought once expressed by Coach. But at least these are happy hoops thoughts (understatement).

Choice of music?
There’s lots of stuff on YouTube. For something nice and melodic, I put on “Was ist Sylvia?” by Bjoerling (best tenor ever in my opinion.) For something exciting, I like “A chi mi dichi mai” (not sure of the spelling) from Don Giovanni. If I want to get fired up in a slightly different way, I put on the bed scene from Manon with Anna Netrebko. Do yourselves a favor – search YouTube for that, and tell me again if you think that opera singers are all the size and shape of defensive tackles.
